Looks good! Except for the purplish/pinkish/magenta frame and swingarm!

I bought my 2005 honda 600rr because it fit me really nice. The other brands seemed more akwared and i didnt feel 'at home' on it. They are very similar, so I would recommend sitting on all of them and see which one seems the best for you.

I had an 08 cbr 600rr I bought brand new from the dealer (big mistake financially...BUY USED FOR HALF THE PRICE) and it was an amazing bike. Needed almost no maintenance besides the regular oil/filter changes which took 30 min. Super quick and responsive. Only mod I did was BMC air filer, Jardine exhaust and a power commander. I also ended up putting the taillight off an 07 on it. Cleaned up the backside real nice. Only thing is I felt like it was a little small for me. Im 6' 210 and my "friends" said I looked like a bear on a tricycle. I personally felt like like it was a little small but not that bad.

Haven't read through the thread, but I personally suggest you buy used. The value of sportsbikes drops sooooo quickly, that you can find great deals on slightly used bikes. I bought a 2007 CBR 600 in summer of '09 with only 3,300 miles, for $5500, no problems.

As such, I recommend you get a Honda, they're known for being the lightest bike almost every year and also the highest rated HP for the 2007-2009 model years, after that I think they were restricted somehow. Very comfortable, but for me, the most comfortable bike I've ridden on was a GSXR600. Felt a very secure and comfortable riding position on that bike. I've also ridden an R6, and they were comfortable and felt lighter than the GSXR, but something about it just...didn't feel right, so I went with the Honda instead.

I've ridden nearly all of them...

Seriously depends on it's purpose. First things first, sit on all of them before pulling the trigger... How tall are you? For the shorter in-seamed riders I'd say Suzuki. If you have longer legs, want mid-range power (for a 600 anyhow), I'd say Honda. Track-weapon the R6 is where it's at. The new Kawi I honestly have not ridden yet...I've heard and read great things but without putting one through it's paces I can't confirm anything.

Triumph? Seriously, I'd look elsewhere (parts availability, known issues with engine, handling, etc.) you get notoriety of owning "something different" but there is always a penalty of owning a English/Italian bike.

Ive had 2 triumphs, and never a mechanical issue. Parts availability, I can see, as everything comes from Britan......

You should look at some Motards or Supermotos...The supermotos weigh as much as a dirt bike and handle amazing. Maybe look at a Husqavarna 510 supermoto.

    Good luck!

I have a Kawasaki Ninja 650 right now and it is a great bike...but like I said the GF wants to get a 650 so I told her I'd give her mine while I get a new sportbike I'll use the 600 for the street... I'm only looking at sportbikes not motards, cruisers, or anything else... and it'll probably never see a track, I'm also 5'8" tall

Get which ever bike suits you best. Do not base your decision on performance as you will never be able to ride the bike to its limits unless your name is Chaz Davies.

i had a cbr 600rr before, I went with it cause of resale. I knew I would be wanting something bigger..i rode it a year and sold it for 500 less than I paid for it..i ended up getting a ducati 1098s..get the 848 and enjoy torque, and a great sound instead of the bumble bee sound! And of you ever had to get rid of it you can.

From your list, I picked the R6. But you really should go test ride a 675. I love that bike. If I were more of a sportbike rider, I'd own one. And yes, many Triumph dealers will let you test ride bikes assuming you have all the required stuff (license, proof of insurance, etc). Triumph also has a truck with one of everything (actually two or three) on it that goes around the various dealers too--great way to test a bunch of them out too.

    none yet.
I work in the motorcycle industry. i own a '05 Kawi 636 great bike. I've owned mine since new. The 636 comes in two generations one with carbs and the other FI. First gen is also a side mount exhaust and the second gen is an undertail exhaust. Check out Kawiforums.com a good place to find info.

Some bikes:but not mine: have has issues with engaging second gear both up shifting into second and down shifting into second. So that's something to keep an eye out for.

The 750 GSX-R is worth a look too: only a couple ($400.00) more i believe than the 600. Not as agile on the track but the extra midrange is a welcome advantage on the street.

The 600cc is a good size and ample power for the street, alot of the supersport bikes have very aggressive riding positions for the street. You may want to also look into bar risers and aftermarket rearsets.
