Which AIR Filter Do You Use?

Bought myself a birthday present, went out & ordered a AFE Pro-Dry drop in.

 

I'm using the True Flow XDI. It's great.

 

I have the TRD CAI. I havent dyno'd but there is a gain in hp and mpg(as long as I dont punch it). Ive never had any problems out of it except the one time it got loose. But I just pushed it back on and tightened up the screw.

 

The game in Wrigley was terrific, although the fans could not get close to the ice surface.
I too, played hockey from age 5-55 and would still be playing but for back problems, used to play three times a week, one of them was a mostly outdoor rink in the winter and boy sometimes it was very windy and so cold that my hockey pants got krinkley and the sweat on my hair froze.
I sure do miss it. Unfortunately, my high school had no organized hockey as I could have been a decent college player.
We have a fair amount of indoor roller hockey but its good for those who cannot skate on ice but I watched it a couple of times and didn't think it was as fluid as ice hockey but what ever floates your boat.
Of course I see your from SC and I could deal with all of that as I am a fishing fanatic and would love to be able to fish 11 months out of the year.

Here's hoping that Boston doesn't screw up the chance to have an upcoming game at perhaps Fenway.

Ive got the K N cold air intake, I dont think it really helped with MPG gains, but im pretty sure it helped with performance in the higher RPM band. and its sound BADASS!

 

Been thinking about a cold air intake system or at least a good free flowing filter, would like to stay away from any filter that has to be oiled.....my neighbors both have cai intakes and when the snow leaves in the spring I will investigate to see what they have . I don't think I would like to spend the $300 plus on a cai if it does not improve mileage.

Got a K&N a bit ago. Maybe a slight diffrence. Might just be in my head.

 

Just recevived an AFE Pro Dry S. Will replace stock and remove sec.filter this weekend

 

Hey those with the AFE Pro Dry which part number do you actually have. Looking at the AFE site for the 4.0L V6 they have two different ones.

For me that's a bit of confusion. Usually the non-black products are the ones that are better and usually more expensive. However the one people say they have is the one with Pro Dry-S which is less expensive

Both are washable and "reusable" and both are oil free... hmmm.

31-10114) as it says it was the right one for an '08. I have an '09 but it did not change. On the website it say's that both are for '05-06 but on the online store, it says 05-08 for the black one

 

Does everyone think taking out the second air filter is worth it ??

Dry. I bought this filter so I'd never have to worry about the MAF sensor.

I had lots of problems using a K and N filter a few years back. I out one in and afterwards the throttle body would get filthy every 2-3 months. Conclusion: K and N lets in more air, but it also lets in a lot more dirt. Thus I went back to plain ole' paper filters.

 

for those who have the AFE PRO DRY filter, where is the cheapest place to order it? thx

 

I paid around $45 for mine, but then the price jumped up $20-$30..... I'd tried googling it and see what you can find or eBay. The price shot up for some reason, and after that it seemed like every place I looked had the same price as the AFE website.
