I've got one, I don't like it.. When I change the filter I take my finger and wipe for dust. And you know what.. It's dirty. Enough of a layer you can visually see. So if ya like piston sleeves that are all scuffed up keep using.

Imo stay with the stock filter meaning the one from toyota. It will save you in the long run.

Exactly what I find with every vehicle I service that has any aftermarket filter in it. Even a no name cheapo chinese paper replacement works better. I also don't change filters 'till they really need changing, a used filter filters better.

I ran a K&N filter in my 1986 4-Runner since it was new. At 483,000 miles I blew a head gasket. It was using no oil at that time. The cylinders still had the hone marks too. That was the only engine work I did on it.

I put synthetic oil in it after 2,000 miles of break-in and only used it from then on. I had a remote big oil filter and oil cooler on it. I don't know if that helped or not, but I am happy with that wear with the K&N.

That does say a lot for the K&N, but any time I see dirt in an intake I know where it's headed. I'm guessing that since you cared enough to take the extra steps with the oiling system you probably kept the K&N well oiled which does help them a lot. Adding the extra oil filtration also helps mitigate some potential damage that contaminants could do.

Oh, you gain a fair amount of flow, but the issue is that you don't need it.
The stock system on the 2.7 can flow more than any normally aspirated 4.0 can pull, and the stock 4.0 system could feed the Tundra 5.7.

Does anybody have the AEM Brute Force on a 2014 Tacoma?

    Is it this model number?
    21-8409DP

Should there be any concern that adding this equipment might void a warranty?

    Thanks.

    Just use the stock one.

It is the best air filter for the truck and is 100% guaranteed to be covered under any warranty problems.

It is proven for a non supercharged engine our stock air intake setup is the best for it.

I find this very hard to believe unless all those miles are on road.

I have a 08' Tacoma with a snorkel and after 20k of dusty offroad and on road use my entire intake would be filled with dust. I don't give a crap what oil you use of how many filters its goiung through silica passes right through K&N filters.

I'm currently using afe-dry. It's been over two years. I'm happy with it but today I came up with an idea to rotate it out with TRD air filter. I'm expecting to receive it in two days. Can't wait to learn! :D

I think you need to include K & N air filter also. you have the oil filter listed.

Just took out my k&n I'm tired of dealing with it clogging up after one off roading adventure. Put an afe pro dry in, cleaned the tb, maf, and intake housing. We will see how long this lasts. The maf and Tb were so damn disgusting prior to the cleaning. But here's a question. Is our maf supposed to have a little tear drop piece on the end of it? I've cleaned maf's before and never noticed it.

So your saying just get a drop it for the stock box and that would be sufficient?

What kind of driving do you do? Dirt roads, city, highway? If you're exposed to dusty environments, the good ole paper filter works best in my honest opinion. I ran the K&N for three months and I realized my MAF sensor was covered in a layer of debris. After making the switch back to paper, the amount of debris has lessened. It's honestly what you feel most comfortable with. You could probably run that K&N forever without any noticeable problems.
