in the market for some Aisin locks for a 4x4 conversion and seeing there are a few different ones. Some say they fit 81-94 others say 98-04 each one is a different color
But what I really wanna know is what spline count should I look for? For a 1999

The red/black painted AISIN hubs will not work, those are for solid axle Toyota trucks. You need the gray/black painted AISIN hubs. Spline count is completely different.

Oh yeah here are the part numbers. I got mine from the dealership brand new. Don't buy WARN, they're terrible.

For a Toyota I don't think they hold up as well as a stock Aisin. I know there are a lot of complaints with the Premium Warns compared to the standard but some of the issues may be installer related and not the actual product.

I got them for free actually. Someone made a mistake, and I got them comp’d by the parts department.

They came in two pieces, the hub body and the dial face. Those two parts had everything you needed besides the cone washers and bolts.

Someone could have painted them at one point. Or maybe they got the dial faces off a solid axle Toyota. The hubs were all different, but I believe the dial faces were all the same.

My buddy at work has the red and black ones on his 1st gen 4 runner and it’s IFS. But that means nothing because it’s not a taco. Anyway thanks for the information these things are not cheap that’s for sure. The cheapest Iv found so far is rockauto at about 97$ a piece. That’s vary fortunate that you got a set for free, I need to start making friends at toyota dealers:drunk:

Yeah Iv talked with him and I think he’s asking too much for them and was quite rude when I made him an offer I dunno I’m not a big fan of price gouging fellow Toyota enthusiasts.

It will be fairly expensive but worth it, I’m thinking I’ll buy all new parts for the hub conversion.
Might be worth it to buy used 2001-2004 pre runner spindals (since there so cheap and available) and get the manual hubs and bearings that bolt on and save the cost of having a machine shop press everything in and out?
Did 01-04 even have manual freewheel hubs as an option? Could have swarn I saw on car-part.com a salvage yard had a 02 with no abs and no ADD

Save yourself the trouble and just buy the complete steering knuckles. They were only available from 1995-2000.

The average price for a set is $350-400. That’s what I paid and what I see them sell for all the time.

All first gens are pressed bearings. The prerunner spindles just have a little pop out plate in place of 4wd

Nah he’s said he won’t budge “he knows what there worth” he wants $650 a set
He lowered the price but took out the cv axles and the manual tube so basically they cost more cuz that tubes worth about 150-200$
