If you’re coming from a Silverado you’ll actually think it’s easier to drive/maneuver whatnot. Interior cab space, idk if you’ll think there is that much more with what you had. I had a 2017 Silverado four door, the smaller double cab. Silverado probably had more sq inches and slight leg room. But I’d consider it a toss up. I keep my back seat down now most of the time. Silverado seats went up.

I’ve had both. Currently driving a long bed.
I like the extra bed space with the 6 foot bed. Some people will say it’s just an extra foot, but those extra 12 inches really do make a difference for my usage. Whether it’s hauling longer items or just the overall capacity, I tend to max it out frequently.
That said, I still prefer the looks of the short bed, and maneuvering a short bed, in a parking lot or off road, is a lot easier with the shorter wheels base.
Bottom line, it’s a very personal choice depending on how you’ll use your truck.

I already have to lower the tailgate on the 6 foot bed on the Dakota for my bikes. A 5 foot bed would put the rear wheel ON the lowered tailgate. That's no good. I will never transport a motorcycle diagonally in the bed of my truck.
