Which Magic Mount mounts to the ball? All the ones I find are opposite with the ball on the mount itself.

Anyone ever drill a small hole in the dash and use a simple Ram mount like this? You could drill into the trim, which is ~$60 to replace if you felt you needed to replace it if you decided you didnt like it. Or I was thinking in the small gap to the upper right of the vent. But that specific part doesnt seem to come alone if you removed the mount and didnt want a hole. I probably wouldnt hang a tablet off it, but for a phone I dont think there would be an issue. Thoughts?

Unless you use some good size washer to distribute the force, I imagine the weight of the phone and wibrations would crack the plastic or start ovaling the hole out causing it to wobble.

Is there any option for phone holder besides magnetic ones or ones that need that track mounted on top? I wish someone figured out a way to do a vent mount with these circular vents. I see cup holder ones but it takes up too much space.

I have the hondo mount as well that goes into the vent ring area. Works with the meso chrome delete for the vents as well.
I tried the magic mount ones, and they would allow the phone to shake or sometimes fall off when I was off road or going over a pothole. This hondo mount has been amazing.

RAM has MagSafe compatible mounts for iPhones but I’d like to have a non-charger insert for it. Does anyone have any ideas for a magnet that would fit? I think my only option is to purchase another MagSafe charging cable and cut the cord.

So i got the Hondo Mount, i installed it and i dont get the hype and i don’t like it much. It is bulky and i had to install it 3 times to make it sturdy. The holder has this wheel to use to tighten after you use the button to get approx size of phone in but it takes 2 hands. I use 2 mounta, this and a windshield mounted iottie on left side of the windshield and that is just place and lock and just takes 2 hands to take off. There werent instructions for the Hondo mount but i youtubed it which isnt bad atleast it has presence in the community. Other thing is tho i am looking for a female ball adapter to replace the arm and mount to something else

Went with the Offroam a few months back and couldn't be happier. High quality.

Nitzie has one that’s just a magnet and you just stick a thing round plate to the back of the phone. Most compact Unnoticeable one I’ve ever seen. Works with probably any case out there. Wireless charging won’t work though unless maybe you offset the plate but it still would make a gap. I have a heavy duty case and it holds it solid.
