That's a perfect position. Just hard for me to limit my vent.

I like this a lot. Still undecided on the full Hondo mount. Do you have a pic of the phone attached in this setup? How solid does it hold the phone in place?

No pic, but it's solid. It doesn't move and no concerns with it falling off

    Another vote for Hondo here!
I was hesitant because of the limited vent movement, but after I started paying attention to where I put my vent regularly, it was in pretty much the same position as the Hondo mount allows for. I don't like it pointed directly at my face and I can use one of the passenger vents if I want that.

I needed something. So I am using the Scoche as of last Friday. So far so good. I have it in the perfect spot. Only thing I don't like is that I have to buy another when I get a new phone.

What do you mean? The stick on metal plate?

Those are like four for $8 on Amazon if you don't worry about brand. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MS6BOVP

Befor the case I have now I just set the plate under the thin shell case I was using and it was fine without adhesive.

Wasn't aware they sold just the plates. Thank you. I may get some more to stick to other things.

Can you elaborate on the type of metal, thickness and approximate total length you used? I think I'm going to replicate this!

Another vote for the Hondo Garage Un-Holey mount system.

This thing is superbadass with my iPhone 7+ riding secure.

Took all of a beer-and-a-half to install.

Haven't tried to....doubt that can close all the way, however that's a nonissue for me. I've never wanted a vent closed.

    I want them open.

I have the exact same set up. I was running 60mph down a drop zone and it never moved.
