Buy any color, then get it wrapped in a cooler color to make sure the paint is perfect for resale.

Yeah.... my truck is black....because I wanted a black truck. Not concerned too much about resale value as far as color is concerned. I suggest getting what appeals to you and enjoy it. Someone will buy it ten or even fifteen years from now regardless of color.

I've never seen color help with sales. That being said it does happen with some makes and models with limited paint jobs, limited color or options, but have not seen that for Tacoma's. Some pearlescent whites, sometimes Fords Ruby red. But you are talking 2-300 dollars.

I've owned and driven all colors of vehicles from 39 till present. I have never had anyone in all that time come up and say boy I really like that color. I have had multiple people and I'd say more than 20 have told me that. I have no doubt that when I wish to sell I'll be able to sell it quick and for a bit more than the black, white, and silvers. And just what color is this you ask? Cavalry Blue.

Toyota trucks hold their value very well in any color. If you're going to drive the thing for a decade or more, why not just get the color you like best?

I would have paid a bit more for Cav Blu... they are hard to find!

I'm relatively new to Tacomas. (there are none in AUS) - When I saw the colors, I was quite convinced about the quicksand - but then I saw the Cav Blue... and then the Army green.

Classic off road colors like Army Green, Quicksand, etc., will likely attract more enthusiastic buyers as opposed to the 'standard' colors in the used market. (Black, white). The dollars may be a little - or more depending on appeal at that time. I've seen this effect in myself when buying new or used, and also when selling my used cars (most in an MT). Colors are vehicle dependent, so this varies a bit.

I think the Cav Blue, QS, Army green and Lunar Rock fit the Tacoma very nicely and my guess is that these will age well (I mean the the color - I do not know about the paint itself!). The PRO - particularly special color models will certainly command more dollars later on...

Time will tell - but rarer features, (MT, 4x4 or AWD, interior / exterior colors) will attract the enthusiasts, and I know directly that in TWO instances, I was able to sell an AWD + manual (non tacoma) vehicle, and an MT rare engine and trim combination sports car (in separate transactions) for some 40% above market compared to the many other similar vehicles available...

    - I got some hate on my adds from some people (who wanted the vehicles, but whined about the price...) - but I had serious interest from multiple enthusiasts at the asking price. It took a little bit longer, but the vehicles sold for asking... One across the country - so the buyer paid some $2000 on top of my premium - for shipping. And the other to a buyer abroad who also had significant additional expenses to get it home.

These were at least 'a bit' special... and commanded more $$. I have also bought a vehicle abroad due to the desired color and trim... (this was also NOT a tacoma).

There is something to this... the degree this applies to a vehicle does vary...

    this and that...
i dont think color has any added effect on if the truck is gonna sell or not. i think its gonna be attributed to how well it was taken cared of, how stock or close to stock it is, any issues, and transmission.

I had an '07 super white that I traded in at the beginning of this year. No issues with the paint on it.

If you believe color has no effect on how well a vehicle will sale than ask yourself why has Toyota offered black, white, and silver on every Tacoma gen they've ever sold.

While all the other colors come and go every couple years or so.

    Exactly

    Work in progress...
Buy the best selling color and only drive the truck 5 miles on Sundays for 15 years. It should resale fairly well.

IMO everything black looks the best, while White makes anything look bigger than it is. Always lusted after a black Ducati with a red frame, though after owning a black Yamaha R6 I'll never buy anything black again. The southwest sun here is way to brutal for any dark color, and whats funny is how hot my Quicksand Tacoma gets, though it hides dust very well.

I'd stay away from anything Red or has red in it like orange or some odd purple. Red fades better than any other color.

I really wanted a color but picked up my 2019 Tacoma a year old with only 12k mi on it for a smoking deal. It happens to be white so had to settle on the color. White is by far the most popular color on Tacomas..... actually more vehicles are white period for that matter.
