I have been looking over multiple old posts and Dana's catalog. I have a 98 Taco, SR5, 2wd, auto trans, extended cab. It is very confusing to me as to which u joint and carrier bearings fit the 2wd sr5, extended cab. It seems like the 4x4 versions are the ones that are talked about a lot not 2wd. Can anybody verify which Dana Spicer u joints and carrier bearing are correct for my application? It would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

Personally, I would start by identifying the OEM part numbers for what you're looking for, and check the compatibility of 3rd party applications from there.

To add to what Andy said, I would recommend using Partsouq.com to find those OEM part #'s. It has clickable parts diagrams that makes it easy to find what your looking for, and it asks tons of parameters to ensure you're using the right parts diagram. Then it's usually good practice to use another Toyota dealership website to double check for correct fitment (I like McGeorge Toyota for that).

Then you can search aftermarket alternatives that may replace OEM part number "aaaaa-bbbbb".

Has anyone actually ordered from Partsouq? They have a factory carrier bearing for a good (for toyota) price. It seems like it's coming from overseas though?

I have. They sell Toyota and aftermarket parts, so just be sure to check that the manufacturer is listed as Toyota. I did mistakenly order drum brake hardware that was aftermarket and it was a garbage kit. I've placed other orders since though and when I double check the manufacturer is Toyota, it's always been a genuine Toyota part that's arrived. Shipping is surprisingly reasonable and fast for being from the middle east.

I usually find the best stateside deals at McGeorge Toyota online or you can look for a nearby brick and mortar dealership that also has a online parts website. Longo Toyota near me does this and I can even call the parts counter for a part number, put it in on their website, order and have it there to pick up within that or the next day for most things. They’re a smidge more expensive than McGeorge but no shipping cost and the convenience of having it so soon is more than enough to make up for the dollar or two that I’d save.
