    Hey Guys,

I am about to buy a dynomax muffler for my 03 Prerunner.

I have it narrowed down to two dynomax mufflers. The 17733 and 17748

The 17733 seems to be a more widely used muffler but the 17748 is a bit bigger. When looking under the truck today, the stock muffler is quite big, so I would assume that the 17748 would be a better fit?

Anyone install either of these? Also, is this muffler an easy install, as in Bolt on and no welding?

    Ok, I probably will then.

As far as installing it, is this bolt on, or are we talking getting it done? I am no welder. :D

I just got mine put on last week. I got the 17748. They aren't loud at all. Just barely louder than stock. Just to let you know. I had mine welded on so I can't say how easy it would be to bolt on.

My truck is pretty close to yours but an '04. How about a video clip of the sound on youtube? I know I am going to eed a new muffler by next spring.

How much did it cost for you to get it welded on?

Also did you just make the muffler the end of your exhaust, or did you keep the long exhaust pipe that goes out to the side of the truck?

OK, so it looks like I might just have to get it done. I wonder how much that will cost.

Besides the sound, anyone notice any increase in MPG's or HP?

OK cool. I also have the deckplate mod. I am really looking forward to getting a little extra power out of my taco. :D

Anyone have any cool setup with these exhausts? Like any cool outlets or tips?

Ok that would be great. I am really looking forward to getting mine. Just need to wait until friday for my paycheck. :D

So, basically you welded the new muffler from after the catalytic converter and then welded the factory pipe coming out of it?

    You welcome!

I purchased mine from Street Side Auto for less than $50 w/ free shipping. I am trying to look for the part, but I can not find it on their site. I was going to give them a call, but they are closed. There were some places locally and online that sold the muffler for $80+. But anything under $50 is a great deal for this muffler (Dynomax 17748).
