Is a 2G allowed in here?

I never use/open the sliding rear window. Had it open once since I got the truck three years ago just to see if it was stuck and if the latch worked.:notsure:

I had mine off for a car seat, then once realized it was off while on the freeway with an adult passenger. I asked if he’d like it on, and he said yes of course! So at 65 MPH I popped outta gear, killed ignition, removed the key and flipped the airbag back on, before starting the truck back up and throwing it back into 5th. I miss that rig sometimes

... Once they are set, why would you need to touch them?

I actually enjoy that the power mirrors on my truck aren't controlled by an ECU or whatever smart system the new vehicles use. Our other car is a XC60, and it's supposed to move the drivers seat and mirror positions based on which FOB is used to open it... never works right, the mirrors are pointed everywhere except where you left them. Volvo acknowledges it's a problem, but hasn't issued a recall. We take it to them regularly as they keep replacing modules, wires, motors, etc. Adjusting them is just part of the routine to drive that car now.

On my daily driver, AM radio...

But I still use the cassette player for my Dead bootlegs. :)

I Also have an '03 with 17kmi on the Odo so in that case I'd say the whole truck doesn't get used..

The system in my mother's RX350 seems to be the best option - mirrors are tied to the seat memory buttons, so you just hit your button when you get in. No worries about the system going to the wrong fob position, etc. Just works, and it's convenient in a car regularly driven by multiple people.

It's not even the wrong fob position- it's just flat out wrong. usually the "up / down" is run out all the way.

You think that's bad, look closely inside the top of your glovebox, and inside the top of the ashtray. Both are supposed to have lights. :p (spoiler: blue LED's are awesome for both)

Oh, dang. That's gotta be annoying. For what it's worth, Toyota seems to have the position memory thing licked - the RX is 10 years old and it still works like a charm.

I knew about the ashtray - my mother's Sienna had one too. Usually drive my Mazda3 at night, so never noticed if the glove box had a lamp.

I keep my passenger side airbag switch in the off position because the switch died and the part has been discontinued :annoyed:

The cassette deck was tested for about 20 seconds before I bought the truck. It has not had a tape in it since, so unused for over 20 years.
The clutch switch hasn't been for years. An insulated #6 or #8 spade terminal (forgot which size) nicely fits in the wiring harness plug to bypass it.
