Which fuse to use for constant power other than power outlet?

    Hi TW,

I have a 2008 Toyota Tacoma access cab, 2 door. I am attempting to install a dash camera, and plan to use an "add a fuse tap" to wire into the indoor fuse panel. I know I need a constant battery connection, and ACC. I was planning to use my power outlet for constant power (Fuse #6), and the ACC for ignition power to tap into (Fuse #5). Here is a link of what my fuse box looks like.

My only problem, is that my power outlet (Fuse 6) has been having surges and the power fuse will trip at times, requiring me to replace the fuse every so often. I'm not sure why. When checking with a multimeter, the power is constant and present. However my question is, do you have any recommendations for other fuses that I can tap into that is NOT the power outlet, that also won't jeopardize any important areas of my vehicle? I just need another constant power source to use for my dash cam.

    Thank you in advance!

I don't understand - if you have a multimeter than you have the tool needed to answer your question.

What are you checking with the multimeter? If you're blowing fuses you wanna check amps.
