I plan buying a pistol soon and I'm having trouble deciding which to get. I've found some police trade in Glocks that fit my budget but I'm having trouble deciding which model I want. The Glocks are a G17, G19, and a G21.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    nothing cool
Is it going to be your only handgun? For carry, home, and shooting range? If so I'd get the G19. If you already have, or are going to get a CCW (like the G43) then I'd get the G17.
Reason being I have the G43 and G19. Since the G43 is my CCW I wish I would've went ahead and got the full size G17 for my home defense and shooting range gun.

Goto rental range see what fits your hand naturally and can hit the target best. My opinion, 26 with pearce grip extension, handguns are for very short ranges (try explaining why you shot a home intruder at 40 ft)

Edit, I see 26 isn't in your choices, perhaps they have one available too?

17 and 19 are likely to feel about the same in the hand, but the 21 won't

What are the panned uses? Just at home? Frequent carry? Range only?

I don't seem myself fully concealing yet. When I do I'll just get a new pistol for that. It's would mainly be for range home and possibly truck gun.

I prefer the 19 in that case. I wanted to like the 26, but since its smaller and still round, it just felt too stubby for me. The 43 was narrow, so i felt l had a more solid hold. Also have TT +2's for it.

    Rule out the 19 then

Figure out which fits your hand better, the 17 or 21

Consider next that 9mm ammo is cheaper at 20-25 cents a round

Any other known difference between this particular 17 and 21?

if you're only looking at police trade ins, have you looked at trade in Sig sauers? specifically the p226 and p229?

    https://www.recoilgunworks.com

they also have other model glock used police trade ins

I have a 17, 19 and 26. I'd go with the 19 for general use. If you are only getting it for concealed carry then get the 26.

I'm looking to trade in my 19 on a Gen 4 19 MOS.

Glock 22 then get a 9 mm conversion barrel. IMG_20160717_160002921.jpg

As James Yeager always says, "ALL GUNS SHOULD BE GLOCKS, ALL GLOCKS SHOULD BE GLOCK 19" "SMALL ENOUGH TO CARRY, BIG ENOUGH TO FIGHT WITH!"

I had to use caps. It's Glock worthy.

Are you sold on a Glock?

I recommend you find a range that has many different rentals that you're interested in, and buy what feels and shoots the best for you.

It took me several years and many quality firearms, to find what works best for me.

2X on renting a variety of pistols, especially as your post indicates that this will be your only gun for a while at least.

If you are set on a glock.. It should be a 19. Everyone's first glock should be a 19. I bought one the same size as a 19, just chambered in .45acp.
