That's odd, my 780 doesn't turn me in circles at all. I've even tested it by intentionally driving past where it tells me to turn and it calculates a forward route. I always figured it thinks I didn't like the look of something on the route it gave me so it finds a completely different one when I pass it by.

Thanks! My daughter came up with it... she asked me what color my truck is and when I told her she disagreed saying "Nuh uh, it's Slurpee Blue!"

I use a Garmin Zumo 550 which was my choice because I mostly use it on my bike. Works great in the car and truck also. Has blue tooth, MP3 and XM radio. All which work great in the car and on the bike.

I have been using Garmin products for years. I have needed their customer support on a few occasions and I have to say they are second to none.

I am partial to the Magellan's. Had two 1230's (one for my wife and one for me) until I got my Tacoma with an Eclipse AVN6620. Have had a Tom Tom in the past (not very impressed, but it was a first generation GPS). My brother has a Garmin that is pretty nice. I prefer the Magellan's because the primary search is by zip code, not city. However, the Eclipse is growing on me and it doesn't use zip. In the end it boils down to personal preference. I would recommend that you go to Best Buy or your local electronics retailer and play around with several of them. That will give you an idea of what you like.

I am a big, big fan of Garmin. They make quality stuff. However, I received a TomTom One as a gift, and have been using it for several months. It does everything I need a GPS to do, and does it well.

I got a Tom Tom XL... something or other for Christmas. So far it seems to work great.
Best thing about it is you can download Mr. T for the voice.
Nothing like having an 80s icon yelling at you telling you where to go.

I use the Garmin Nuvi 255WT. Basically, go with a Garmin, I hate TomTom's and everything else is just crap! Whooo! Go Garmin!

I have a Garmin Nuvi (maybe 200w model). I love it. In addition to the GPS, you can type in points of interest and it gives you the phone number. It's like a phone directory too. They have more expensive ones now that have bluetooth, I-pod, camera card stuff. Mine also has the SD card slideshow, calculator, convert money, and more.

I use a Tom Tom 140S. I used to own a Garmin 260w but gave it up. I personally love my Tom Tom over my old Garmin. Garmin has a easier interface, but if you've owned a few GPS units you'll find Tom Tom has a lot more to offer in their GPS unit.

Put it this way. If i was dieing and grandma had to get me to the hospital, I'd go with the Garmin. Beyond the random fluke chance of that happening, I'd go with a Tom Tom any day of the week.

Between my family members and I we have 4 of them. All different models and all work great. I have used Magellan in the past but returned it after one weekend of use. I am getting the Nuvi 255W for the truck.

I am running a Garmin Nuvi 1390T. Lane guide for popular routes, blue tooth (sweet looking up POI with phone number, just touch dial button on screen) brings up phone info from BlackBerry, great navigation, quick refresh rate.

The only thing I wish it had was the feature of the TeleNav Shotgun. That unit will allow you to capture route information and print a log for business miles. Maybe one day........
