    In 285/75/16.

    I'm biased with on-road > off-road.

Out of those 3 the Grabbers for sure. The Falkens suck, i like the cooper AT3 much better than the ATP.

Grabbers = Tirerack, the others I can get from Discount Tire.

Are Grabbers noisier? I know they weight a lot more...which may be concern for MPG?

If your worried about MPG stay with a P metric or a C rated LT tire. The AT3, toyo open country, nitto trrra grapler are all available in P metric.

I have not heard any noise from them on the highway riding with a buddy who has them. I have the BFG's and they are about the same tire as the Grabbers.

I sure do like my ATP's, they have a nice aggressive tread pattern and have quite nice road manners, same size as you are looking at.

I had the grabbers on my last truck I had, and I got them from Discount Tire (the store in town ordered them for me). I loved them!

Not your size BUT my Grabber AT2's/ LT265/75/16's are wearing like iron, they DO make a small hmmmmm going down the road and my MPG's dropped by 1/2 -1 ( not bad enough for me to NOT run them ;) )...

My 2nd choice would be the Nitto Terras ; they were going on my Tacoma until a great TW deal dropped these AT2's in my lap....

Looks as if all of the 285's are gonna be D or E load range and heavy, but the coopers seem to be a lighter tire compared to the BFG AT KO. Some have said the Nittos are heavy also. I didnt previously see that you were looking at 285's.

Hopefully you did see mine are LT's..... my mpg drop was not enough for me to NOT recommend them....And I just looked ; Nittos are LT's also in that size.....

OP, good luck finding a compromise for an AT with good MPG's in your size....

P metrics might be a quicker wearing tire BUT deliver that MPG......keep us updated....;)

May be worth it to just have daily driver tires and a set of MTs for off roading :)

I just bought a set of General Grabber AT2's I hope I made the right choice lol

they were one of the few in a P vs LT rating....so MPG shouldnt suffer too much
