Not all hub rings are created equal in terms of material or fitment. Not a lot of results online, some available, seems like a crap shoot. Any recommendations based on experience?

My moto metal rims came with plastic hub centric rings but they were the correct hub bore so i didn't need to use them. I put Dick Cepek rims on my last Tacoma and used plastic ones and they worked perfect with no issues at all.

I keep hearing the plastic ones are crap and break easily. How come aluminum or metal are so rare to find?
