Wanted to get folks' opinions on which springs would work better for my setup. I put in an order for a Stage 6 ICON kit to replace my OME setup. One question I wasn't sure how to answer was which springs I wanted installed on the front shocks. I chose the standard 650# springs but from doing research I think I should change that to 700#. Here's what I currently have on the truck:

    - OME 885x springs on OME coils with a 1/2" top plate spacer
    - Hub measurements: 22.5" driver side, 23.5" passenger side
    - OME rear shocks
    - Dakar leaf springs (I am keeping these on the truck)

I've added a bit of gear to my truck since the lift kit was installed All-pro APEX bumper, Smittybily X20 synthetic on the way, supercharger, IFS and tranny skids, All-pro sliders.

If I want to keep the same height will the 650# springs do the job or should I bump up to the 700#'s. I could also throw those top plate spacers back on if that is a reasonable solution.

    Thanks in advance!

I have the Aluminum Apex front bumper (w/ warn winch with synth line) and steel Apex sliders. Aluminum ifs skid. I got the 700# springs after having the 650# on my icon 2.5" coil overs. I would recommend them

Ride isn't too rough with them? I've gotten really tired of bouncing all over my seat with these OME springs.

I would call my trucks ride quality comfortable yet firm not really bouncy. The added weight will add suspension compliance. If you want a cushier ride I'd say that I got that with my 650 springs at the sacrifice of ride height. With the default preload icon ships with their coil overs a stock truck should get a lift of around 2". I only got 1.25" with all the extra weight. The 700 springs needed a lot less preload to get 2.75" lift in front.

Have you considered the CDCV option from Icon?
I'm also trying to decide which springs to install. I have similar mods as you except I will be running an aluminum bumper with no winch. Several members on here with Icon CDCV told me that they're able to adjust the settings on their coilovers to compensate for the "rougher" (subjective) ride due to bring relatively light with 700lb springs.

Edit: I believe the stage 6 system comes standard with CDCV.

The stage 6 kit includes CDCv on the front and rear shocks so that should help as well.

I do need that 2.75" so it looks like I'm going with 700# springs. Thanks for the input!

Not really understanding the difference Icon's 700lb spring in comparison to their 650 springs, I purchased the 700lb springs from Wheelers. After having them installed yesterday, I feel like I'm bouncing all over the place, when I thought if anything, they should be stiffer. Am I missing something here or what? I realize that I'm running a basic stock set-up as far as bumper and no winch, but are the 700lb springs that much stiffer and result in the bouncing I'm experiencing? If so, looks as though I will be listing these on TW and having to purchase the 650lb springs because this annoying as hell.

    enough to go over stuff
The 13 inch 650s will work. But the 14 inch 700s will do much better
