Just bought my new-to-me 2008 TRD Offroad. Went over the options, mods, addons, and purchase locations from the guy I bought it from, but a modded intake was not mentioned. From looking at pics it looks like a cold air intake was added, but I'm not sure what brand it is or what filters it would take.

    Anyone know?

It actually appears to suck air from a hole in the side fender.

Okay, thanks. It just looked different than the google images I pulled up of Tacoma engines.

EDIT: Actually if this is stock intake, how does a CAI even help? Air isn't gonna get any colder than inside that fender unless maybe if you suck from the grill area.

You may have gotten images from different engines.

Must have, or maybe just I saw CAI's and thought they were stock. Thanks sorry for the dumb question.

I'm sure there are many more to come!

They don't help, besides make the truck sound a little different. It doesn't actually suck colder air. The stock one is a true "Cold Air Intake." I believe URD makes an intake that puts the intake behind the grill.

Ya I saw the thread of the guy who had an intake behind his grill. Drove once in the rain and hydrolocked his engine. I'll keep stock I think :D
