I noticed the first 2022 Tacomas my local Sacramento, Calif. dealer has in stock were built in Tijuana, Baja California. But all the 2021's I've seen were built in the central Mexico state of Guanajuato which is a newer assembly plant that began Tacoma production in 2019. Wonder if there is a quality difference between the plants (paint & various assembly or component defects)?

On a serious note... It's all import to me.

Edit: I'm not very good at being serious.

Quality is same man. It's not like one plant builds them one way and the other plant uses entirely different techniques. They probably even send emails to each other.

    Wait... is this Friday already?

In theory there shouldn't be. I haven't heard any complaints. Some would claim there were more issues with the Baja California plant than the San Antonio plant, but actually doing more research on here determines that's not the case. Especially since most of the parts are made elsewhere and merely assembled together following certain specifications.

I believe things like paint are all automated. The difference there being the prep quality and type of paint applied. More often than not though, paint defects seem to have more to do with the color than the plant. Single stage colors such as super white are known to have issues.
