In researching what I want for my system I am starting to get paralysis from analysis on the LOC component of my set up. Here's what I plan on doing:

I plan on a sub. I have a Dayton 10" RSS265HF-4 I am going to use. I'll need to make a box for it(not a problem I have full a wood shop). I also plan on either disconnecting the rear door speakers or leaving them connected to the factory HU as they are now(which makes more sense?) and then replace the front speakers with new components.

Keeping the factory HU. 2014 Entune Plus?(not totally sure on the different Entune levels. I have satellite and HD with weather and traffic plus I have voice command function. Not JBL). I know the standard to upgrade the sound is to start with replacing the HU but I'm not going to do it, I like the functions and look of the factory unit I just don't like the sound.

Line out converter. I am unsure of how many outputs I need and also getting mixed reviews on the AudioControl stuff vs the Audison Bit Ten D. I was all for the Audicontrol due to price but I've seen reviews with hiss....that would rive me nuts. I want good clear crisp sound and ocassionally loud but I don't need audiophile quality.....I would like it I'm sure but my wallet won't. lol

Amp: I am looking at one of the Alpine PDX series. Would like one amp to drive both the front door components and the sub. So the F4 or F5.

Front door components: Leaning Alpine SPR-60C or JL C2-250.

Sound deadening I'm still up in the air.....I had an '11 that replaced the entire system(including HU) and I did add deadener to the doors and also MLV to the front doors. Not sure I'm up for that again. haha

So.....with just front door components and a single 10" sub which LOC makes sense?

I'd go with the 5-channel PDX. That way when you decide you want to replace the rear speakers and run them off the amp, you can. If you know you wont, then the 4 channel will be just fine. Just bridge 2 of them for the sub.

As for the LOC. I just got an LC7i, still have yet to install it. But, for simple use, any 2-channel LOC should work. Rockford fosgate makes one that has good reviews. Then, on the 4 channel amp, there is usually (maybe not always) a switch that tells channel 3&4 to go off of1&2.

I am new to the LOC, but i figured i would throw in my 2 cents. I only got the LC7i because i got a great deal on a used one. And i am running 2 amps, so i needed the other output line.
