Also just something to keep in mind, if you want to go that high of a lift (4") there will be a lot more work involved (and money spent on parts) verse a smaller lift. You can get a quality 2"ish lift without breaking the bank and without all the headaches that a higher lift brings - Bilstein/Eibach lifts.

Thanks! I will look into it more and weigh options. I will admit, it’s SUPER easy to fall into “bigger is better” and “more is better”, when the NEED simply may not be there. But (hahaha), this is all “needs vs. wants”, eh?

Dangerous open ended question my friend. You say you’re not a wrenh guy BUT the most important thing here is to be a Rich guy. Welcome.

Stryker pneumatic hood struts. May not mean much to a non-wrench guy but that’s probably my favorite mod.

    LED interior bulbs.

When it comes to Tacomas though, bigger isn't always better. That's not to discourage you from getting cool truck stuff done. I don't off-road per say, but I'm still lifted with 285s because I like the look.

If you have more money than sense, then drop if off and tell them to do it all! Otherwise I would advise like others to chill for a bit and just drive the fucking the thing as it came from Toyota. You might find you really don't need / want some of those mods.

PS: and of course be mindful that some mods could lead to a legitimate warranty claim being denied. It happens!

Me personally, I’d stay away from CAI, no measurable performance gain and you are likely introducing more dust and dirt into your engine which isn’t a good thing but if you aren’t going to be a longtime owner not too big of a deal.

There is an expectation of what we all want our trucks to look like, and what we want to have on it. Whatever you decide to get, do it in the right order. If u get a tent and bedrack, get bedstiffeners. If you get that, maybe consider aal or suspension. If you get a front bumper consider 700 series front springs to help with the extra weight. Everything you do will have an effect on the truck that you have to consider. Just my opinion. Dont half ass it.

You can run 33s (255/85/16) on a stock off-road with little to no issues. You could give that a try and see if that's all you need for what you'll be using your truck for.

Highly recommend doing a lot of personal research on suspension kits and weighing out what fits your budget and needs. There are a ton of options out there. I decided on the Old Man Emu suspension kit. It is middle ground/low end budget wise, but fits my needs. I've very happy with it. With 33" tires it raised 4 inches in the front and 4 3/8 inches in the rear with the 886 coils and heavy Dakar leaf springs. It's a great beginner lift.

I have a spreadsheet with part categories, prices, and links for various parts I want. Maybe making something like that will help you prioritize.

It’s your money, but the mods you are talking about pretty much mean walking away from your Toyota warranty (or at least giving Toyota a good excuse to deny a claim) and beating up a brand new $45K truck.

If I were in your place, and I really wanted to do some hard core wheeling, I’d be search for a used 2nd Gen that I could build into dedicated mud rig.

I’d also recommend learning how to wrench on your own gear. You absolutely will break things in the woods and no matter how good your mechanic is, they won’t be there when you are on the side of a trail. You need to be at least somewhat self reliant.

Just so you are aware modifications will drop the MPG if that is of concern.

The loan delete mod is the best supporting mod for the fun mods.

Can’t prioritize mods until you put the rig to work and find out what you like and don’t like. There’s a big aftermarket for these trucks.

a TRD OR is a good off road truck out of the box. Cosmetic stuff is strictly personal preference, and so are the camping add-ons.

no clue what kind of trails you are riding and what kind of weight you are carrying, but Tacoma rear ends do sag easily with payload. Had 680lbs in my access cab today and it looked like it was bottomed out. If you’re carrying gear I would consider a rear suspension enhancement. If you’re carrying anything above the bed I would consider bed support brackets too. I forgot what tires come with the TRD OR, but I supposed a good AT tire would be a great mod.

Fine tune all of the basic performance/durability stuff first before moving on to cosmetics.
