Yeah, I was totally expecting way more out of 91 E0. The first couple of tanks, I was disappointed but decided to stick with it. After 6 tanks, I was like WTH am I paying an extra $0.60 a gallon for? I switched back to 87 E0 and the first tank jumped by almost 1 mpg and it's continued upward since. I have been very conscious about driving the same way and trying not to affect the results and I am shocked at the difference.

85 here in Colorado. The truck seems to be happy with that grade but I should try 89 and see if that adds a little boost climbing the passes.

Typically I run anything higher than 87 due to knocking and pinging/low RPM light throttle miss I get on 87. I can even run E15 88 octane from sheetz better than any 87 E10. No E0 around my parts so it is what it is.

If I fill up at a 1/4 to 1/2 of a tank of anything other than 87, I can top off with 87 and have no issues. I will fill up with 87 when towing since it only gets me about 200 miles before I am filling up again and i'm running right through it.

My truck tune is 100% stock.

Toyota engines like high octane fuel. People instead spend money on fluff like bulbs and cheap rims.

87 top tier only (Regular Unleaded in the South). Typically, Marathon with STP. Not on the top tier list? I don't buy it. Also that Marathon club where I get 5 cents off every time, then after so many point you'll hit 25 or 50 cent off a gallon not to exceed 20 gallons. Works fine for me and Marathons all over the place.

Jet A if I can get it at the pumps, but it smokes a lot and makes the engine stall ;-)

    But..Seriously

Does the Taco V6 on the 3rd gens have knock sensors and timing control to accommodate any fuel grade?

    Audis do. Do Toy trucks?
