I admit that I'm guilty of neglecting the lubrication of my 2009 Tacoma, though I've been great a greasing everything else. This is what I already have for grease:
    • Quicksilver 2-4-c lithium based marine grease NLGI #2 (for my outboard)
    • Traveller Premium Heavy-Duty Lithium Complex NLGI #2 (for my lawn tractor)
    • Lucas Marine Grease Calcium Sulfonate NLGI #2 (for my boat trailer wheel bearings)
The Tacoma manual says to use a lithium based NLGI #2 grease, so that rules out the Lucas Marine Grease. So which of the first two greases that I already have would work best for the Tacoma? Or does it matter?

I don't think it matters as long as you use something and on a regular basis. I just use good ole Red N Tacky. I put that sh!t on everything....

Fully agree w/ this^^^. Using the "wrong" grease still would've been better than neglecting it w/ no grease at all.

I agree, any of them. Grandpa always said "any grease is better then no grease" even though I never met him. R.I.P. grandpa.

Yeah, I have a real problem.... I have multiple tubes of Lucas Red N Tacky, jugs of oil and lots of spray lube. I probably over do it but I had my last Toyota pickup (98 T-100) for 17 years. I plan on keeping this one just as long. I just rolled over 96,000 miles and still don't have any door dings or any frame rust more than a little surface rust at some of the welds. I even spray up into the drain holes on my doors, rockers and cab corners.
It's not the cleanest truck in town but mechanically, it's one of the most babied and solid Tacomas around, for it's age.
