do you know if having the pipes turned down just after the axle will make a different sound or about the same if it was out the side or back?

Mine comes out just behind the rear tire and I love it. It looks really cool and sounds great. I have the 50 series single in and double out. The place I got mine done at were not all that excited about going straight out the back without doing straight duals.

bring this thread back to life, Im looking to install my self, sounds like the stock is 2.25 meaning id need an adapter to connect it to a muffler with 2.25 pipe on it right? or could i get a 2.5 and use a clamp to cinch it down?

I'd suggest letting a muffler shop do it. It's such a cheap and easy job for them, and they'll insure you get a leak proof rattle free installation. I also run a Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow on my Tacoma. It's a 2.5" OD Center In/Offset Out. It sounds really good even with just a 4 cylinder. Here's a zero to sixty run. The sound overloaded the camera's mike but you can still get a basic idea of how the 50 sounds.
