    Today is maintenance day..

Changing oil in the truck, and the oil and transmission oil in a new (to us) 06 civic.

The civic takes 5w20. Went to Checkers and bought up the only 3 quarts they had of Mobil1 5w20.... I need 4.

Last owner had a bottle of Valvoline 5w20 full syn in the trunk, and I will have at least a bottle of Mobile1 10w30 full syn after I do the truck..

Which one would you rather mix in? Stay with the mobil1, even though it will be one bottle of 10w30? or mix brands and stay with 5w20??

Stay with the same weight, doesn't really matter what the brand is... although some may say otherwise.

I agree with this. Don't put 10w30 in an engine that calls for 5w20. Use the Valvoline.
