Yeah, I'd be going 2 max. Upgraded suspension is more because I'll be putting in a winch and hybrid bumper.

Yeah I'm waiting for a plate front bumper now... went with aluminum don't know if that was a good idea yet or not... since I got the plate bumper for armor.

Not sure if I'm going to get a winch or not, if I do then I will likely go to the 886 front springs. I don't need em yet and the 885s are nice with the 5100s smoooooth riding and stiff when I need it.

    Both length (height) and stiffness

How is it any different then throwing spacers on a stock setup? And I've heard the stock or shocks are slightly shorter 5100's

I have an aluminum front bumper and just installed a WARN 8k with synthetic line. I have 886's in the garage but I'm not sure that I will need them.

Be careful if you do end up with 886's. I wouldn't recommend running them on the 5100's.

Spacers are a bad idea from the start.

Too much preload can cause the shock travel to be limited thus blowing the shock or having it snap right in half. There's some pictures on the interwebs that show this happening.

They might be shorter, but the 5100's are a littler better quality than the stock setup.

My .02, do it once, do it right; buy once cry one. Trust me, I've been there and you think you're going to save money but in the long run, you just end up spending more

With 885's you are not suppose to run them any higher than the lowest setting to avoid a high preload. A coil with a higher spring rate can't be good for the shock that isn't designed to work with that coil..

OK thought the 886 was good with a heavier load up front (plate bumper with winch for example) ... with the heavier load it settles to the same height as the 885??

I run my 5100s at zero.

It is good for more weight up front but the higher spring rate of the coil helps assist with the extra load to help it sit higher.

If you are planning an aluminum bumper with a synthetic line winch and 886 coils, you will likely sit higher than (1) the 885's and (2) a steel bumper with a winch with a steel cable line

So the only heavy load coil for third gen is the 886? Seems like it'd only be good for 1.5 inches +/- of lift.. since they lose an inch off the bat compared to second gen?

Has anyone used the 888's? I haven't looked much at them as I don't have the need to haha

Wonder what they get up front with 887's too..

By that logic, there should be a 889? Or is the 886 it?

    I'd hope it's in production.

Dropping down to 1.5" lift before armor/winch weight to what was a second gen, heavy load coil sounds like a bad option to me.

Alot of people saying the 886 is not recommended for the 5100 but how come it's ok with eibach and 5100? The eibach coil is 742 vs the one 886 which is 660#. Anyone wanna give their thoughts on this?
