    Hey guys,

So I am looking to own a Taco pretty soon. I have an auto 15 Pro and MT 17's on my list. If I can't close the deal on the 15 Pro then I'll probably get a 17.

Real question, should I get a Sport or and OR? MT Sports are available a lot more than OR in Inferno Red. I am not really looking to OR like crazy at all, and if I do, I already have an 18 T4R for it. The truck will be my DD and weekend DIY from Lowes and HD.

Oh and btw, should I even consider a 16? Are there any problems at all? Ppl usually say don't buy the 1st year of redesign engine and stuff. I am planning to keep this truck for 11+ years.

    Thanks for any inputs guys!

My ‘17 OR MT has been great and I very pleased with it. I have never taken it in for Warrenty.

‘15 vs ‘17 should be a bigger question than OR vs Pro vs Sport.

I have an OR and have never driven a Sport so I won't comment. Just drive both and pick the one you prefer. My 16 has been solid just like my 04. Good luck.

it drives kinda like the T4R. I like it. However, if I owned a MT 3rd Gen for some period of time, once I figure out how to drive it properly, I'd probably like it too. GOSH! so hard to choose

I would recommend you also test drive a sport. My dad recently got a ‘19 sport and although I wouldn’t say is a large difference it definitely has a stiffer ride than my OR.

Other than a weeping rear diff which was taken care of under warranty, and the notorious squeaky clutch pedal which cna be fixed with brake grease... Nope none at all

oh I forgot to mention... the famous 3rd brake light leakage on the 16-17 year models. I have read a lot about this issue. Has anyone here actually gotten it fixed after the 36 mos/36k miles warranty?

If you are using the truck for lumber runs to Home Depot, I’d be looking for a long bed, either is the access cab or 4 door, but 6’ bed for sure. The short bed that I have is great for camping and what not, but it isn’t very useful for bringing home drywall.

Haven't run into the issue. But I plan on putting a bead of clear silicone once my warranty is up

i have a sport. suspension stiff but rides good on paved roads.

you can always buy an OR and put sport suspension on it.
