Back to the cut out thing, could you do this? Forgive the rookie photo editing but I think it is close enough to give a solid concept. And I imagine it may have to be tweaked slightly for proper function but I trust you would be able to do that without any trouble.

Everyone else, thoughts on the concept above?

Nothing personal against ARB, but I think that their bumper is beyond Ugly. I have no doubt it is solid, but horrid to look at. Just IMHO.

I have seen his vendor section, and will probably be looking into his skids with serious intent here soon, but I still like the way the DeMello and the Brute Force look more.

Agreed on the ARB...it wins the ugly contest. I had opportunity to get a scream'n deal on one and I passed on it because I don't want that thing on my truck.

I have a Brute Force rear bumper and it is awesome. Billy does super clean work, the fit is perfect, and the turn-around time is fast. He'll also gladly
    custom the bumper.

I'm also looking at front plate bumpers. Like you, the look matters to me.

I think I'm settled on the Demello. Elite is right there too. So really, I'm trying to decide between those two. They seem to have the better contours for matching the front end. I know that's a subjective thing. For me the Relentless and the Brute Force bumpers look a bit bulky for my taste.

    Not enough.
    BRUTEFORCE ftw

I've seen his work first hand and the quality is top notch. My BF rear has held up to some serious hits....including other cars (old people).

I'm saving up for a front bumper from him real soon :D

Nothing against demello but I'm not a man of money.

Hey "OP" my bumper sticks out maybe an inch and a half farther than the factory bumper. That's to the front of the recovery points..

I really like the bf bumper the most I'm ordering mine real soon.. The Demello is nice but I like the kicker bars on the sides of the hoop and I'm not a fan of the big letters in the middle of the Demello

Any chance you could shoot me a quote on lead time and total cost for the bumper above and the standard rear bumper shipped to 84015? That's in the mountain time zone if that helps.

And just out of curiosity, how high up does the front hoop come up? Just level with the hood, or slightly higher? Is it visible while driving? And if it does come up higher, would it be possible to make it so that it is just as high as the top of the grille? And do the side supports affect light output at all? It doesn't look like they go in front of the headlight much but it is hard to tell.

Sorry, that ended up being more questions than I had intended.

EDIT: May have just found the answer to some of those questions. Which leads me to more.

This is one of yours is it not?

Looks like it comes up just about level with the top of the hood. Any chance the hoop could be made to follow the inside edge of the grille?

    Something like this:

who ever you choose make sure they brace it properly so if you ever do need to use your winch or get tugged out this doesn't happen to you

as far as I know Relentless, Elite, and ARB are the only companies that have substantial bracing in the front that I have seen in person and would trust. I don't know about DO, Brute, or any others as I have not seen them in person, but if they don't have good braces I would walk away because they have major design flaws IMHO.

Here is what I'm talking about. It's a very simple brace that goes over the bumper and stock mounts then extends back to the boxed portion of frame. A huge 3/16-1/4" thick washer is on the backside of the frame so the boxed section of frame isn't crushed when torqued. While this is a very simple design most companies overlook the fact that the OE mounts were NOT meant to have a heavy ass bumper with recovery hooks mounted to 3 bolts that are pressed into flimsy 12ga Toyota steel.
