Hey guys it's about time to change the plugs and just wondering if NGK or Denso would be better one over the other? I've seen some good prices on ebay from $11.98 for a set of NGK's (copper) and OEM Denso's are a set of 6 for $19 and it doesn't say if they are copper or what but I'm guessing standard oem's are copper?

Or should I look for iridium's or what?

If you have the 3.4 you should use copper plugs. Both are good. I've had NGKs last far longer than they were supposed to. But I would just go with whatever is cheapest if it's between the 2.

Fun fact: toyota installed plugs before installing heads. Being assembled in different areas ended up with alot of trucks coming from factory with densos in one head and ngks in the other. So technically both could be considered oem

Neat fact: My last truck had 220k miles on it when I bought it. I was having a misfire when in moderate throttle. When I changed the plugs they were still the original plugs- how do I know? One bank had Denso, and 1 bank had NGKs. A cooper plug lasted over 200k miles. Haters will say it's not true.

wow 200k miles? I guess the truck felt the same power and everything as when you put them in initially?

No power complaints other than a misfire in moderate or high acceleration. The gap was quite large on the old plugs as one might imagine.

Lol idc I know what I know. You don't know me, so I understand your apprehension of a 200k copper core plug.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Both came in the truck from the factory, stealership only stocks denso. Pick your poison they're the same. Literally the v6 came with NGK in one head and Denso in the other

I just changed mine to the NGK Gpower a little over 3000 miles ago. they are a step above copper they are platinum alloy. They have worked flawlessly truck actually starts better in cold (-0 temps). Just an FYI you don't really need one with 2 grounds electricity will travel the path of least resistance so there is only one ground making a spark each time. Not trying to create a huge discussion about it you can use either one is what I'm saying.
