Apologies if this is not the right area for posting this questions. So I have a 2007 Black PreRunner Sport with an automatic V6 engine with about 100,000 miles. I have three main problems that I know I need to fix and I need to see if one is connected to the other two/how to fix them. I am no mechanic, however, I do not shy away from learning new things about my truck.

    (1) While driving, in any sort of condition (highway/surface roads), with my foot on the pedal, sometimes the engine seems to "lag". It's a hard thing to describe, but the best I can describe it is that it is if the truck is rolling along and then all of a sudden it feels like it is being pulled back and not able to go faster. It eventually kicks in, however it is very disconcerting, and I would like to get this problem fixed first.

(Wondering if the either of the next two problems is related to the 1st)

    (2) I know that the pullies and belt need to be replaced, as I can hear squeaking when I accelerate now and then. Sometimes it is worse than others. I believe the best guide I have found on the interwebs is http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/foru...154-idler-pulley-bearing-failure-what-do.html

    (3) Also, something that started happening recently is after I park and turn the engine off, the brake lights stay on. If I pull the brake pedal towards me, the lights immediately turn off. Should I just purchase a whole new brake assembly.

I have a feeling that the (1) and (3) are related as (1) seems to go away when I put my foot underneath the brake pedal and pull. However, I would like to know what the community thinks.

Clean you maf and throttle body. Replace belt. Replace you brake light switch/ adjust brake pedal push rod. When were your spark plugs replaced last?

Probably not recently enough, is the spark plug what you think the problem is with problem (1)?

The brake switch is the cause of both 1 and 3. The computer slows you down if it thinks you're on the brakes.
