Hello everyone, I have a 2000 Tacoma and I want to get some new wheels for it, I still have the stock wheels with the ugly hubcaps which are faded from the sun. I was looking at 2 particular wheels that I like, I feel like chrome looks clean since I have a white truck, but I also like the aggressive look of black so I’m not too sure what to get, let me know what you guys think. Thanks:thumbsup:

I would want something with a little more stock offset (ET +34 to +38) so they stay under the fenders. If you push the tires out too much rubbing becomes more likely. Personally, I prefer aluminum wheels, in colors or polished and clear coated. There seems to be a problem with so many newer chrome parts rusting. Have you looked here https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/res...toModel=Tacoma+2wd&autoYear=2000&autoModClar=

I'm running the Sport Edition A8-2 on my 2004 5 lug. I chose P235/60R16 tires, a perfect match to the height of my original 15 inch tires. To keep your stock height, and the speedometer right, you would likely want something like P205/60R16 or P225/55R16.

Out of those two? the Black, 100%

But I generally hate anything chrome, so I'm biased.

But as @Taco critter said, those really aren't all that different from your stock ones hidden under your hubcaps.

Pull your wheels off, get a couple decks of playing cards (to mask the tire) and go to town with a rattle can.

I must be getting Frugal with old age.

Young and dumb $$$$$ so much show and no Go.

I really think it is a stage if your mechanically inclined we all go through.

Now my Stock 15" wheels are just fine much more critical things to spend money on.

I was thinking of doing this but then I ran into a guy at the oc yoga nights in orange and I saw a bunch of 5 lug first gens but there was 1 in particular and it was so clean! Had a 3 inch lift, 30x9.5 tires with 15x8 procomp 51s and I loved it, I’m for sure getting the procomps!

That’s one concern about the chrome, I personally like the chrome because it looks very clean but the pro comps are a little more aggressive and I like that.

I like the black Pro-Comps much better. Plus the chrome never seems to go too long before it's rusting or bubbling/peeling. If the black wheels start to rust, you can touch them up yourself much easier.
