l think I have a need for control arm skids but not sliders. Doesn’t really make sense. But I guess the rocker panels are pretty high up there.

But the control arms are not thin sheet metal with very expensive paint that when crushed cause your door to not work and your potential girlfriends thinking you are a bad driver.

Control arm skids are just bling for the gram. All they do is decrease ground clearance.

I've got Demello sliders on both my Tacoma (PreRunner, but still gets dirty once in a while) and my 4Runner "trail rig". I don't know if Demello makes a version with fill plates, but you can get them made entirely from square tube if you want.

Only really tested them when the pickup got t-boned by a Honda Pilot; ended up needing a new slider on that side, but no damage to the cab at all.

In addition to the rocker panel protection, they also provide a jacking point to lift one side at a time with a hi-lift jack, and also work as a step for getting to the roof rack if you store gear up there.

I’ll make you a deal on a set of C4s. I ended up getting a long bed and had to get new C4s.

Chose on the metrics others have laid out. If cost is a concern, look at closest manufacturers, shipping can be steep. If you can pick up in person, even better.

There are s number of YT videos from 4X Innovations on destructive testing of their sliders. Worth watching, and note that the more steel in contact with the frame, the better.

Don't buy sliders that attach the outer bar to the frame plate with round tubing. Round bar is flimsy in bending (low moment of inertia) and will allow the sliders to contact the pinch weld more easily when supporting load.
