I am looking to put a roof rack on my 3rd Gen Taco. I have been looking into the Prinsu CabRack, Victory 4x4 Roof Rack and the FrontRunner SlimLine II Roof Rack. If anyone has any of these or others, any pictures or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I guess it depends on what you plan on hauling with the rack. I just installed the OEM roof rack with an Inno Fairing to haul my kayak and it suits my needs perfectly.

I was just about to mention what @DWD484 did. I'm going with that exact setup here in the near future. I think it looks cool and it will be more than enough for anything I'd need to put up there. Just my $.02

I've had the the Frontrunner Slimline II for over a year now and have loved it so far. Lightweight aluminum build and endless mounting possibilities with the t slot crossbars they have. They are also always in stock and take around 2 days to get to you with free shipping. Great rack, but you cannot go wrong with Front Runner or Prinsu, although if you are gonna put a heavy load up there the Front Runner is definitely a more solid rack.

I've got a BajaRack on mine. I mostly put my canoe on it. I do have a few gripes; powder coating seems a bit weak, I've got some areas that are scratched and rusted already. It's super low profile, so it's hard to wash the roof of the truck, and the sunroof won't tilt all the way up. Opens fully in the horizontal plane though. I'm pretty sure permanently mounting this roof rack dropped my MPGs by 2. On the plus side, the install is pretty easy, it has a cut out for the shark fin and covers the whole roof. Says it's rated for up to 300 pounds. It is mostly flat with a slight drop in the last couple inches at the sides. It's also got some brackets for mounting lights or whatever, haven't really explored that.

I went that route first as I had the OEM rack and what I found was really surprising. VERY few baskets are mountable to our OEM racks. The cross bar spacing is too far apart.

I actually scored a deal on a Thule Canyon XT (extra long with extension!) roof basket and it wouldn't mount!! Ended up giving it to my dad for his Subaru :(

I'm sure there is a basket somewhere long enough with variable mounting points that will fit but I didn't find one. Plus the OEM rack is only rated for 100lbs and a lot of those baskets alone are like 50lbs+ so figured it wouldn't be as useful as I thought it would.

My Gobi Rack is rated for 300lbs

I’m pretty stoked for it. Won’t lie. It’s quite a difference in cost... but I feel like the looks and functionality is well worth it.

Edit. Plus the guys doing the work are good people and are really into hearing from the customers and making it work for you. Not that other vendors don’t do that. I’ve dealt with lots of great vendors here on TW.

Awesome appreciate the response! I've watched your install video a few times now. Do you have any shots of the t-slot access points on the production version? Also, what is are dimensions of the bars? I'm trying to plan out what exactly I'd like to mount. Thanks

Not sure on the part#, but it's the INNO 40". It leaves about 1-1/4" gap between the edge of the fairing and the inside edge of the rack on both sides. You can always get the 48" and carefully cut it down if you don't like the gap.

They are ~1x2" I will get a shot for you, basically a milled slot big enough for a t-nut.

Awesome! Shoot me a PM and I'll get you a frequent customer discount code
