Ive also pretty much only heard it pronounced “still” as well in the US. Worked in Colorado, eastern and western Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and California.

    BEST movie ever!!

Buddy of mine put one of those trimmers through the side of a 10 ply KO2 like it was butter

Personally I carry an 18" Stihl and a Silky hand saw - primarily used for trail maintenance so has to fit in my builder bag.

I have a Silky Hayauchi 3 extension-21’ aluminum extension saw/pruner and it’s absolutely an awesome tool to have if you have trees on your property that need to be trimmed lightly.

The Japanese way of pulling on the cut is so much easier.

This thing right here is my fav. Small, compact and gets the job done. Its perfect for yard work too. And no, I'm not cutting down 50 footers with it.

Those are mighty indeed for yard work. They work perfect for like a green hop bush. Crazy hardwood, and a chainsaw is too much as it will rock the entire bush when trying to cut a small branch. A chain that’s not sharp makes it worse. A pruner is almost impossible if the branch is thick enough. That’s where these small battery operated saws kick butt.

    I have 2 saws.

Stihl MS 261C (20 in Bar) and a dewalt 12. I like both of these saws for how handy they are

The one thing I've head about electric saws is that chaps are pretty useless as a means of safety when using them, which is why I've been hesitant in getting into a larger electric saw

    Nice, 261c.

To be honest, I’d rather wear chaps than none at all. And given that electric saws are all about torque, safety chaps will do something to protect. They are not designed to keep you from getting cut. They are designed to stop the chain by stuffing it with the material it is made of so that a possible severe cut is averted.

The day I decided not to wear chaps was the day I nearly cut into my knee cap. That small cut was enough to warn me. Always wear safety equipment.

That goes when you’re working on a 3rd Gen too!!!

I bought the Craftsman version of these mini battery powered chain saws since i already had several of the 20v batteries for my Craftsman drills. These small battery powered chain saws work great and are perfect for heavy pruning, etc. I even used it to level a few small diameter tree stumps I had in my yard.

Great tool, you just have to remember it was not made for heavy duty cutting.

I agree that I'd rather wear chaps than not. I recently saw this video on how they're suppose to work.

    10-4 on the video.

I understand they are uncomfortable to wear. But, the time I got cut, I should have gone in to get stitches. Instead, I just went for the “Topanga Stitch.” Pressing together the best I could and using bandages to keeep it shut the best they could and staying off my leg for days until I could walk around with a stiff leg without opening the cut, lol.

The Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee was a blast. I took 2nd place in the stock class where everyone uses the same saw. I buzzed to a 2nd place in open hot saw. 10.1 against my 10.8 And took a 4th in unlimited after about halfway down the cut, the chain started to bounce in the cut! I knew right away I was not going to podium. $198 payday, lol. Hey, me bro and I had a super great dinner on the way back down!!!

    Good times in a Taco.

BTW, North Fork’s Mid Sierra Loggers Jamboree is this coming Sunday. Good times, food and beer! And a lake if you get too hot. But at 81°, should be an awesome day.

A good friend, Stephen, took 1st place using my 3136FP in the unlimited class. It’s hard to give up the reigns, but it was great seeing him cut with it. I got a chance to see it in action with and from a different perspective.
