New guy here, getting a 2021 Super white TRD Sport in about a week, trying to decide what side steps to go with? The Toyota Predator ones? Aftermarket?...I do like that the Toyota ones are aluminum...

Tons of threads my guy, but if youre gonna hit up some trails i would go with sliders. The predators will net you a lost of clearance

Cali raised and some others make sliders at 0° that function as steps.

0 degree sliders can be used as steps too, although if you don't need sliders, get steps they are easier to install and cheaper than sliders

Sliders, because when you install your Prinsu roof rack, Plano cases, and light bars, it's a lot sturdier, and won't tear off on a rock!!!!

Girlfriend demands steps on a stock Sport? My wife is 4'11" and there was no "request" until I lifted 2.5". As others have said. get 0* sliders. I got the MobTown Overland with inlays which are great as steps. In hindsight I probably would have gone 5* as they do stick out a bit BUT function great as rock and mudguards and you can still jack up your truck on them. I heard that they are a bit behind now though but if you don't get the powder coating your good. Definitely high quality at a good price with free shipping to boot.

She's 5'-7" but knows I'll end up lifting it and going with bigger tires, combined with knee issues...Yes we're old.

Love my Brute Force Fab Sliders!! These are weld on with fill plates and kickouts. They make great steps and you can lift the truck from them if you like. They came with the legs cut at a slight angle, but we just cut them off straight before welding them on.

I have a pair of Greenlane sliders. They’re aluminum but can still take a good amount of abuse and are much lighter than steel. They also function well as a side step too!2EE1370F-C1E0-4F4B-AF35-D03C8BBDD97C.jpg

I'm so old that my idea of off-roading is turning around in someone's gravel driveway. My wife is vertically challenged so I've always put step rails on my Tacomas. These are 5 years old an I just transferred them over to my 2021 Limited. They're N-Fab & my Tolyota dealer stocks them.

My wife said the same when I purchased my 2019. I like the factory Predators as they are light weight aluminum and holding up really well. I just moved them to my 2021 2 nights ago. However if you are going to offroad, then I would not go with Predators as the steps drop down and hang a bit lower. But I love the looks of them.

I'm with you. And yea I'm old too. For me a dirt road is living on the wild side. My truck is for hauling my Honda Goldwing when I need to. Because I will never see anything close to serious off roading I went with the OEM 5-inch tube rails. I was torn between these and the predators but I liked the look of these on the truck better. The wife complains any time I get a truck, steps or no steps. Says no matter what they are hard to get into. I tell her that at 5'4" just about anything is hard to get into
