I have now broadened my search to include .40 and .45! I went to a gun show this weekend and handled all 3 9mm that I put on my list. I liked all 3 but not enough to purchase one on the spot. I did however purchase the handgun I have been wanting for a long time. I found a good deal on a Sig P226 9mm Blackwater Tactical Edition. It is a super sweet gun! Please include your opinions on sub compact .40 and .45 calibers! I appreciate all of the great responses on this thread.

I carry and love my Glock 27. It is significantly smaller than its larger counterpart the 23, and is the same size as the 26. I have and carry both the 19 and the 27, and you can tell a huge difference between the two when it comes to concealment.

    And congrats on the Sig!!!

Smith and Wesson M&P9c all the way. The one with no magazine safety and no internal lock.

The grip, ergos are better then glock 26 and xprindfield xd imo. I have over 4 thousand rounds through mine without any problems. You can't go wrong with a glock 26 either.

I have heard great things about the Smith ans Wesson MP series! I will have to check out their subcompact. I am going to a gun show next weekend. I am surprised there isn't more love for the Sig in this poll!

Of the 3 listed, and I have shot all three. I like the xd for my hand the best. Since you have now included .40 & .45. Go check out the G36. It's a single stack .45 Glock. I shot my buddies and it feeds and fires great.

I have a S&W MP .40 compact but I can't comment on it's reliability. I have XD45 but I wanted something smaller so i picked up the S&W. The S&W was the most comfortable gun I looked at but it had some defect from the factory so I haven't been able to shoot it yet. Hopefully get it back in a couple weeks.

My mom just picked up a Ruger LCP( .380) and it's pretty awesome, really lightweight and small. I haven't shot it yet but it would probably be the next handgun I pick up.

I have included a .40 in my search but not a .45! I already have a Sig P245 compact! Does anybody have experience with the Sig P239? I have heard many good reviews on the Glocks and XDs!

To the op what fits your hand the best? If you are concealing, where will you be carrying? Any caliber will get the job done if you are using hallow points, but I prefer the .40S&W over most others. No reason but personal preference and ballistics tests I have seen.

Most brands out there are going to put out a decent product, HK being my favorite but others like Springfield Armory, SW, Kahr, Glock. I would however, never buy a Taurus or keltec not impressed with the quality of workmanship or longevity. You don't see 10 year old Taurus and Keltec pistols for sale that still work like they did they were built...

I loved the Sig when I carried it in Iraq... I also carried the MP5 or a M4 with 10" barrell depending on mission... (We called it the M4 Shortie)

I just bought my new CCW and I didn't get any of the 3 I listed! I got a Sig P250 Subcompact in 9mm! It fit the best in my hands out of any of the subcompacts I felt! I haven't got a chance to fire it yet because the range at Bass Pro was closed tonight for ladies night! WTF! Anyways the gun is small, lightweight, the grip feels great, and it's a new Sig for $450! I am hoping to fire off some rounds this weekend after the gun show!

I have an H&K P2000sk. It holds 10 rounds of 9mm. I carried this gun for about a year before I moved to a non concealed carry state. I really love it.

If you are looking for a good gun to conceal you must look at the Kahr PM9. Good weight and very concealable.

I'm a Glock guy and carry a G26 daily. I also have a G23, G19 and G17 but most days my G26 is my carry gun. Oddly enough I seem more accurate with it than I do by G19 or my G17.

So, of course I'm going to vote for the G26 :D
