I'm currently using Ultima Paint Guard Plus. I've read that it's very similar.

just did my truck and Honda accord using Zaino clear sealant, the pictures don't do justice to just how high gloss and mirror shine it produces , usually kicks in the next day after cures, from then on its just wash and tune up with detailing spray brings it right back. I have used Wolfgang sealant and some Meguires but bit the bullet on the ZAINO after reading many peoples reviews and have to say its the most DURABLE(super long lasting)and GLOSSY that's out there, used KLASSE AIOon the Honda then sealed both with the Clearcoat, personally I think the KLASSE AIO and Zaino sealant works best.

So is the ultimate paint guard and Zaino clear seal a sealant or a coating? The way it's applied sounds like it's a coating.

Ultima (UPGP): It's a super concentrated sealant. Not a coating. But yes, it applies similar to a coating. It literally flashes within about 2 seconds of wiping it on. It's actually kinda hard to tell where you wiped it. But no fear. Just do a second coat an hour later. Insane shine. And Makes glass super slick.

The Zaino is a sealant as well, but I've not used it.

CLEAR SEAL is a sealant, ZAINO has a Cult like following with users but after using it I completely understand once you go ZAINO you will pretty much throw out or give away all your other sealant/waxes that's how good. I bought a kit from ZAINO which are expensive I would recommend to just buy the CLEAR SEAL Sealant from the cheapest source you can find, using a Cleaner Polish like KLASSE AIO or the ZAINO AIO first I recommend of course do the paint prep work before applying, and I will guarantee you will also be one of us Brainwashed ZAINO Cult members too:thumbsup:

Harpo, I see you are using Duragloss 111 and 601 and the Ultima Paint Guard Plus. Are you applying the Ultima after paint correction and the Duragloss on top of that or what?

Ha. I'm kind of an LSP addict. I just like trying different things often. Sometimes I'll use a cleaner and polish off the old before adding new, but sometimes I might just try something new before it's really needed. I did a light correction before my last application of DG 111/601. And a few days ago I couldn't wait to try out the Ultima that came in the mail. So I just threw it on top of the DG. Absolutely wasn't necessary, but certainly amped up the gloss. I'm sure I didn't get the full effect because of the underlying DG. But some definitely stuck. I rarely make it to the end of a product before trying something else.

Lol. Detailing is my crack. Wife complained at first still she noticed she had a car that shined all the time. Now not a peep out of her. :headbang:

So Ultima and Zaino CS go on after paint correction? Would it hurt or be beneficial to top them off with Duragloss 111 or some other wax/sealant?

    Thanks

Yes, wipe on-walk away sealants go on after paint correction. They're just sealants. Ultima is a polymer sealer and Zaino is acrylic (I think). They're doing the same thing that DG 111 or any other wax/sealant would do. So no, there's no reason to top them with anything else. If you did want to top, it would make more sense to apply DG111 as your base coat and the Ultima as your topper-- because the 111 would be the more durable product.

Keep in mind-- if you do use WOWA sealants on top of other products, they're not going to bond as well as they otherwise would, especially if the basecoat is new. And they might not bond at all. Kinda like if you were to apply a wax and then try to get DG 111 on top. It's just not gonna stick.

Topping is kind of a crap-shoot. Some products play well together, some do not.

The advantage to wipe on-walk away sealants is ease of use. You can seal your truck in about 7 easy minutes. So, longevity is not that big of a deal. You can do it again in a month if you have 7 more minutes. Traditional sealants will probably last longer (but that's dependent on a wide range of factors).

Ace am I correct in thinking you use a coating instead of a sealant? If so, which one?

    Thanks

Optimum Gloss Coat. I use it cause it can be topped since I have several LSPs.

What do you mean by several LSP's?

Last step product. I have quite a few waxes and sealants. Hate to waste them.
