    I need some opinions...

I'm currently torn between two tacomas. Both DCSB. Both TRD OR. Both super clean and rust free.

Taco #1- 2011 White, 122k miles, cloth seats, asking $21.5k.

Taco #2- 2013 Pyrite Mica, 139K miles, leather seats, coming from a toyota dealer...so extra warranties n' such, asking 23k.

All the other differences are fairly nuanced, taco #2 has some slicker aftermarket wheels that I dig...all things that can be equalized with time and paychecks. I'm looking for a clean truck that will last me until it literally falls apart. The 'smart' call seems to be taco #1, lower miles and cheaper truck etc... However my heart really likes the refreshed 2nd gens and pyrite mica color as well as the peace of mind that toyta is selling me the truck.

Is 20k miles and ~$1.5k more important long term compared to the truck that is personally more tasteful for moi? Also, I know there is a cult following here for white trucks, I'm all ears to be won over to the side of super white...

Pyrite mica! That 2011 is priced high. I paid 20k for my 11 2 years ago with 94k miles

Thanks! It honestly seems like these trucks have been appreciating in value recently...

I just bought a new TRD OR a few weeks ago. The semi-conductor shortage is restricting inventory and raising prices. Used vehicle prices are going up as well. I know several people personally that have recently sold Toyotas for more than they paid new. Crazy market right now.

Pyrite Mica all the way. Though of course my opinion is entirely biased.

Wow that's crazy, almost tempting to just go new...

Agreed! I'm thinking the 20k mile difference won't mean much in the long run if I take care of it and get er' to 300k.

I love the super white trucks,BUT with all the white peeling paint problems lately I would but the 13 instead with the nicer front end AND interior.
Try too get a little better deal on the 13.

Now is like the worst time to buy a used truck with prices the way they are. If you can't wait, I'd lean towards the '13. You got the VIN(s)?

VINs and CARFAX are good on both. Although, haven't they been saying this forever with the tacomas? On the flip side, there is a guaranteed low supply of 2nd gens thanks to frame rot and this vehicle will be in it for the long run, maybe prices are slightly higher in the short time bc everyone wants to be an overlander these days...I'm just looking for something to last, not necessarily trying to time the market perfectly.

The interior difference from 11 to 13 is big, the 12-15 models are much more modern feeling inside.

Unless you know the service history of both, it doesn’t matter.
    Get the one you like.

If you know the service history. Get the one that was serviced regularly.
If not, you might be able to find the previous owner. When I traded in one of my previous trucks, the dealership called me and asked if the “potential buyer” could talk to me. I did speak with him. And as far as I know he bought the truck. And yes, the dealership called me. They didn’t divulge any personal information with out speaking to me first. I was totally fine with it.

There both great trucks only thing with the 13 is the secondary air pump that may be a issue something to ask about and look into

Is there something wrong with your 2010 DCLB in your profile to replace it because I rather keep that one over the 2 in question.

Rust....I thought I could get the better of it but it has become too much of an issue. Also, the DCSB is more practical for my lifestyle.

Pass and pass, too many miles for me. Not too many miles for a Tacoma.

Don't worry about the mileage difference, get the '13. And price doesnt mean much on these things when they keep holding their value. You won't even remember the extra few grand you spent after some time goes by.

Ok I'll gauge the room here. I found a 2013 TRD Sport for 23.5k, 80k miles... it seems worth it to forego the bells and whistles for 60k less miles.
