So I have my old Method NV 16" wheels I'm going to give my girlfriend and she need tires. Can't figure out what to get, but I've narrowed it down to a few choices.

She does a lot of highway driving about 40-100 miles a day... So MPGs will be a factor. We plan to turn it into a decent mid travel Tacoma, but that's not going to happen for a few years.

Should I go with a 4 ply or 6ply or more or less? She will be following me around when I go off road. I feel like a 4ply/B load range might be to low, but it's also a smaller lighter truck than mine.

What do you guys think 285/75/16 or 265/75/16? She has Bilstein 5100s set at 2.5"

They will be A/T tires. Been looking at the Toyo at2, cooper discoverer at3, falken wildpeak at3w. Looking at tires under $700.00

Out of the three choices, I would pick the Cooper AT3s in 265/75/16s. I believe they're C load.

Reason being, I wouldn't want my girlfriend to suffer the mpg drop of 285s, and Cooper gets tons of praise here.

The Toyos look similar, so maybe if you got a better deal on them....

However, I'd also compare prices with General Grabbers AT2.

Ah yeah you make good points. My original thought was the same 265/75/16s. Then I kept seeing what 285s would look like :D.

I just found a set of 4 cooper at3 265/75/16s load rating C/6ply for $450.00 after rebates. I might jump on this.

If milage is a concern Cooper AT3 in 235/85 16. This is what I'm running. Same diameter as 265/75 16 but about 1.5 inches narrower. Lighter less rolling resistance. Even after putting an ARB on the front, and keeping a heavily loaded cross bed box in mine I'm averaging 18.5 around town.

That is a smokin deal. Now you you have left over money for lots of tire shine to make sure they keep "looking good." lol

Yeah it looks good. I didn't get a picture after we painted the wheel and put the bolts around the fake bead lock yet.

Loved my cooper at3s, went through mud almost as good as a MT. They rode really well, pretty sure I had the c load 265s.
