You’re probably right. Who knows what is up to date on the internet.

I used to run BFG AT on my old Cherokee and never got a flat tire, on the road 90%,desert/mountain 10%, and I live in Baja and the streets are as shitty as they come. When I got my Tacoma I moved over to the General AT2( cheaper that BFG) and noticed a softer and quiter ride, great cornering with almost no squeal and no flat tires 3 years in and still have a bit over 1/32" tread left . I gonna try fitting the X3 and ATX this weekend. Although I love the X3 red letter look I'm probably gonna go with the ATX since I do more sand and gravel and not interested in a noisy tire.

I think General Tire is the most underrated brand. I ran their Grabber Arctic LT snow tires this winter and was extremely impressed. Will be considering the Grabber ATX when my present set of BFG K02 summer tires wear out.

You should check out the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They fall into the hybrid tire category.

Y’know, it’s maybe just me, but there is something about Ridge Grapplers that just bugs my eyes. I’m sure they are great tires, but they just kinda look wrong. That weird angled tread. They obviously are extremely popular with the 4Runner guys, but even though every second 5th Gen runner has them fitted, they still bug me every time I see them fitted.

Irrelevant thought I know, but I got it off my chest. Uughhh.....Ridge Grapplers.

I know it wasn't mentioned but I've been very happy with my Duratrac's for the past 11000 miles

Just sent my KO2s back due to never balancing properly and got another set of ST Maxx. Personally I think they are the best all around tire

Lol, they do have an unconventional tread pattern. I tell you what though, they have done awesome off road and still feel planted and responsive on road.

Love my ATXs. And you're right about the quiet ride. I thought my Falken AT3Ws were great until I switched over to Generals. 20190410_171305.jpg

So I changed my General Grabber AT2 for the ATX, stayed @265/70 since I didnt want to do any modification, besides I have been in the desert, beach, mountain with/without snow and have had no issues. Never got a flat tire with the AT2 and the roads in Baja suck so they take a pounding. BTW I got them @ $565 dlls installed, balanced and alligned, sweet deal! TACO1.jpg TACO3.jpg TACO2.jpg

I had these tires on my F250 SD for years and ran well. Thinking of going with them again, they look great on the Taco!

    This is my second
This is my second set of General AT's which performed great all around sand, gravel, rain and snow (they are studable btw which I dont need), used to have the AT2 now got the ATx, they are great tires! And I used to be an BFG user on my Jeep Cherokees. I live in Mexico so the roads are pretty bad plus some light off roading couple times a month and they wore evenly, I sold the used ones at $50 ea and not noisy at all on the road.

After my stock Goodyear's wore out at 50k, I went with the Pirelli Scorpions. Haven't taken them off road yet, but they run as quiet as the Goodyear's, and have performed well in the rain.

I just got the Cooper AT3 4S's. Great tire, great price, perfect durability and weight for a weekend warrior spending most of the time of the road. No need for an E rated for me. Triple peak sever weather rated as well. 60k mile warranty. Love them so far

I had the AT2s a little over a year ago, I use them year round. Sand, DD and New England winters ( Lots of salt, sand, and potholes) Kept them rotated lasted till I traded them in, close to 65k on them

I was up in the air about getting the white lettering but for sure I think I will after this pic.

I was too, but general rule in the past was if you had good wheels you used to set black walls. The white letters on General tires look good. Your truck your decision.
