I have a 2012 Tacoma OR wheels and they are bubbling/peeling real bad. I found some 2021 TRD take-offs and some 4runner take-offs that I could buy, but I'm wondering if those will bubble and peel too? Do all toyota OEM alloy wheels peel eventually?

Eh some wheels will never bubble just like some vehicles have no issues with clear coat bubbling. I have 2021 Sport alloys on my 2nd gen daily and 5th Gen 4runner wheels on my wife’s 3rd Gen 4runner. Both look new still.

Painted alloys can bubble/chip/peel if exposed to chemicals or treated poorly. Mine have chips because the tire techs at Discount felt like it was acceptable to nascar-pit-style zip on the lugnuts and in the process left a trail of damage.

You could find some polished alloys that won't peel, but then you'd have to polish them regularly or they would tarnish and look terrible. Some polished alloys are factory clearcoated for easy maintenance and yes those will also peel if mistreated.

    Pick your poison.
