Is there any way using the Fusion app to tell which sensor has gone bad? I purchased the 10$ extras with OBD Fusion. have tried to check tire pressure with the app with no success

I have the same app and don’t think you can do it. I never saw any postings on pids you could enter.

ELM327 is just a physical link connector. It has no bearing on what data can and cannot be accessed. Only the specific CAN bus it is plugged into can control that. I don't know about Tacoma, but some vehicles actually have multiple CAN buses that are not interconnected. One for the engine management and diagnostics port, another for climate control, door locks, buttons, and so forth. The idea basically being that you don't give your radio access to the sensitive bus that can control the engine and brakes.

Now more to the question, if you can connect to a bus that actually has access to the TPMS, and are able to read the data from that bus corresponding to the sensors, AND if the node actually supplies some kind of unique identifier for each sensor along with that specific sensor's reading, then you could potentially identify a specific failed sensor by sequentially deflating tires until you find the one that has no impact on the reading.

A $12 ELM327 can read *and write* EVERYTHING that ANYTHING can read or write.

If you are looking for specific access, it CAN get it....

--- as long as the vehicle PROVIDES the data on some CAN bus,
    AND
--- as long as it is connected to the correct bus,
    AND
--- as long as the software you use is capable of it.

Noting, of course, that non-mandatory details would be provided on the bus in a non-standard (i.e., custom/unpredictable) way.

I don't consider this discussion to be nearly significant enough to be worth my time to prove. Suffice it to say that I know the technology well enough to make the statements that I've made. If you can't read the data on X vehicle with Y software, then the issue is going to be either the vehicle or the software, not the adapter that runs between them. You are more than welcome not to believe me, if that makes you feel better.

    Ok then.

And by the way, just so we have a clear understanding of the way your mind works, how much TIME would it be worth to YOU to prove something that you know to somebody you DON'T know on the internet?

    You actually started it.
Also, do you want to know why Torque is stuck with a UI that is about 10 years out of date? Its because the guy who wrote and maintains it can't justify putting any significant work into something that only 4 people use. It is really NOT a high demand application, and NOT something that would get people "rich".
