its not a spacer lift, they are adjustable donahue CO's but i guess he put a 1" spacer drop thing? let me try and find the pic. . makes sense to me to not get a crazy angle on the cvs with the lift. hold on. .

is yours lifted at all? i've seen plenty of people on here with 4x4s lifted and dont seem to have a problem without the drop but i guess i'd leave it on unless someone can convince me how much better it is to take it off. . why else would he get it on ya know?

    much easier said than done...

if he want to build a long travel truck to the specs that the other truck for sale is, it would cost about $6,000-$8,000 on top of the cost for the truck.

or he could buy the other truck for a couple thousand dollars more and have it already done.

just because a company makes a product and says it does something, doesnt mean it actually does what they say it does...

i can't really say much about diff drops cause i have never paid much attention to them becaue i dont have 4WD, but i've heard from many people they are a waste of time and money

just keep the amount of lift small and the cv angles will be fine without having to add parts that may or may not make things better or worse...

I had a DB lift for my 4wd for a little over 2 years and made quite a few desert trips with it and it handled ok. I wouldn't say they are a waste of money. You definitely have to be careful with it and not ride it as hard as you would a LT truck.

I'd go with the LT truck though. Even if you aren't going out to the desert all the time, it will sure be nice when you do...and regarding having a LT as a daily driver, it isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. Mine rides way better than stock and its my daily. Plus, if you love your truck you are going to love the way it drives...for the most part :)

like i said, i dont have any first hand experience with them... only what i've heard

and yeah, a LT truck as a DD isn't bad at all... it's actually quite fun and you get to see all the Bro's check your truck out

DMZ long travel is the better deal. Nothing 'wrong' with the manual, only thing is the 6th gear is lower than the auto's 5th gear which is why it gets worse mpg on the highway, but if that trucks running 35's w/o a re-gear than it actually works out better to have the manual. The first gear in the manual is 4.10 if memory serves me (with a final drive ratio of 3.73), but the shift from 1st-2nd isn't so sweet as the RPM spacing is a little far. They say it's a heavy transmission, but if you like driving then buy the manual. I've driven both, and by the seat of my pants it felt faster. My 6spd has survived 2 years of mild off-road use and so far, no problems and its really fun to boot!
