Hello everyone. I currently own a 2006 Toyota Tacoma DC LB with the V6, which is an awesome truck. In a little while it will be handed down to the wife to drive. I am looking into buying a 2008-2010 Toyota Tundra Crewmax TRD with the 5.7 or a 2008-2010 Chevy 2500HD with the Duramax crew cab. I'm a heavy equient operator, and plan on carrying a aux. Dyed diesel tank and have the toolbox in as well. I may put a plow on one of them, but I may use it to tow bobcats and mini excavators for side jobs. But end the end they are both awesome trucks, and can't pick one. Let me know what you think or any info you can give me.

Towing a Bobcat? That alone is around 8000lbs, not including the weight of the trailer needed to haul it around. Do not tow it with a 1/2 ton.

    Go with the 2500.

With what you plan to use the truck for, why would you even think of the Tundra? I'm not brand loyal, I get what's the best for my needs.

I won't be towing all the time. It would be once in awhile. Ive seen the tundra pull a skid steer and a mini on a YouTube video down at the truck plant in Texas. From the video it looked like it did well. That's what has me thinking about it otherwise it would be the duramax

It may pull fine, but how's it stop on a downhill coming around a turn? How about wear and tear on the driveline and suspension?

Making a trailer "go" is the easy part. Take your own safety into consideration.

As soon as I read you're going to tow a bobcat I voted for the 2500 HD... go for a diesel.

Thank you everyone, I figured I would ask everyone on here, since we are all Toyota owners. I thought the Tundra could do it, but it would be hard on it. I must say its a sweet truck. I test drove the tundra on the weekend and was amazed by it. But in the end, I am better off to spend the money a Duramax.
