I own a 2009 DC LB in black, so....

Best of both worlds!!! If I was doing some "hardcore" offroading, I might consider something w/ a shorter wheelbase. My truck gets me in the woods for hunting, biking, camping, and its great in the snow. Plus, I can thow 4 people in w/ snowboards, bikes, hunting gear, ect. It just works for me.

Although, I looked at the same truck in a different color, silver, and for some reason it looked to long. Same truck in black looked just right.

I agree, the access cab has the best "looks" of all Tacos, personally speaking. BUT, there's nothing better than packing 5-6 people in your truck w/ coolers, grill, corn-hole boards and bags, footballs, ect., and going to a your favorite sporting event, concert, ect.

Looks, hardcore offroading, and available manual option, I'll give you the nod. But, imo functionality DC LB all day long.

9 times out of 10 I don't use the cab or bed to the fulliest, but when its there when i "need" it.

2nd favorite color, now. Was actually my favorite vechicle color until my charcoal Dakota left such a sour taste in my mouth that I couldn't get that color for my Tacoma.

...maybe next Tacoma will be mag grey. :D

Voted for the 4wd DC lb.. Rule #1: Trucks don't belong in no stinkin' garages! Rule #2: Parallel parking? You park your rig on top of that Miata, not in behind it! Rule #3: lb = haul more = more gear = more fun. :D

I voted for the dbl cab long bed. He wants to take friends so the room is in back. Since he wants to buy a quad, My long bed holds my quad just right. I still need the tailgate down but the quad isn't resting on it. I wouldn't want the SB because the tailgate is weak and I don't want my 600+ quad resting on it for a long time. also, get 4x4

I originally bought an access cab trying to save a few bucks, somewhere around $2500 cheaper than the double cab (canadian $'s mind you). It was a pain in the ass taking any more than 2 people, no one can really ride back there. This posed a problem more than a few times. Then the baby came and access cabs and cars seats just don't work. Theres no way you can really have a passenger when the car seat is in the rear. Not to mention they changed the back seat of the AC in 09 and IMO made it worse than the previous models.

Then I started having problems with the truck. It leaked water and the dealer could not find the leak. This went on and on. Long story short I ended up with an 09 DC and I realized that for the extra money it would cost you for the DC, IMO your way better off getting the DC. The extra room is so nice and its not an issue if you have more than one passenger. It handles and turns almost the same. I can take my family in it and the bigger cab seems to make the truck feel wider. The AC was very confining. They may work for some people but after having both the DC is the ticket hands down for me!

well looks like the DC is winning so far, and it sounds like the access cab just doesn't have enough room for stuff so i think he is gonna go with the DC.

I had an access cab (Ford Ranger) for 15 years for work with a long bed I can tell you it was fine if it was just 2 in the truck but the back was way to small. then when I started to look at a full size it was to big for my needs then I bought DC long bed 4x4 4.0L I have a lot more room for my tools in the back with the seats down so that's a plus as well you can now have 5 in the truck when your going on a trip for the extra cash that it cost its well worth it as for backing up you got the backup camera so its not a big deal I say get the DCL and you won't be sorry one bit.
