this would be his dream truck haha. he wants to get the blue with black wheels and he wants to put a 6 inch lift and then we'll be building a bumper for it.

dc 4x4 trd sport long bed with tow package
that way if you want you can tow the quad and it gives you even more
    room in the long bed.
    then de-badge it

I'm with slypted....I dont ride 4 deep in my truck and never really used the backseat in my 06' DBL...Plus the longer bed is uber handy for hauling dirtbikes, stuff etc...

Maybe I got burned out on that big set of back doors on my 06' too.

I like the longbox A-Hole cab as to me its the true essence of Tacoma-ness? The whole 4 door soccer mom look wore thin on me.....

    Old 06' DBL...

    New 09' A-Hole cabber.

    My vote's for a 4x4 DC short bed with a 6-spd manual. :)

I picked up an access cab...cause I didn't want to have to lug people around...its usually only me in the truck...but if I do go on road trips no more than 3 people...

Everybody bought what they have because that's what they like and want...which is what they're gonna tell you to have your brother buy. Here's my 2 cents:

    1) Does he care about comfortably carrying 4 passengers? If yes, get a DC. If no, get the one he thinks looks better.

    2) Does he 'honestly' intend to offroad hard? If yes, get a 4x4. If no, I think it's worth saving the $.

    3) If he likes blue, get blue. If he likes grey, get grey.

Buying something because other people think it's cool is being a poser. Again, just my 2 cents.

I didn't get that memo, so let me get this straight. Since they have four doors:

    Lexus IS F10=not cool
    Dodge Charger SRT8=not cool
    S Class Mercedes=not cool
    BMW 750i=not cool
    Ford's new 365hp supercharged SHO=not cool
    Even the Lamborghini Estoque=not cool

    Got it!:D

Epoxy Satoshi; Redline Hood Struts. 4x Mil Spec. bed D rings; Brute Force Fab custom DCLB Hybrid Sliders, ARB w/ Warn M8000 wench, Diff Breather mod, Alpine Deck w/ ipod cable. Iphone ziptie to rearview mirror 4wd-cam mod!
umm, so i guess this is a little late, but my .02...

X2 to all the above.... White LB didnt seem right, looked too stretched.... but Indigo Ink... Just right! course in NM white/silver /grey are much more sensible for hiding dirt and scratches.... win some and lose some. I have 3 step daughters. DC fits em all in the back seat perfectly, dog, skis /gear/ trash/ whatever in the back with good bed space even with a toolbox.:]

*no kids= AC (friends will just have to squeeze the kids a little in the back! plus its pretty roomy compared to the 1st gen. extracabs)

    *Kids/family, carpooling= DC
*mostly 4x4= SB (TRD OR or sport)
*mostly work= LB (LB=TRD Sport only TRD option)

and if you look for used, i.e. Autotrader, Craigslist (if youre careful of the seller of course) you can get all the TRD upgrades plus relatively low miles for a thousands less than new....
