So I finally sold my old Offroad truck (Long travel Avalanche) and have some money to do the things I want to the 2012 DCSB TRDOR Taco. I had been set on the ARB bumper but now that its time to drop the coin I want to make the best decision possible based on information from users. Demello and All-Pro are close to me so those are the others I'm entertaining. I would like to hear from people who have any of the three above and what they like about theirs and what they don't if possible.

I will be using a Warn VR8000 winch in the bumper.

Reason I was drawn to the ARB immediately was that my airbags work with it and I do use this as my primary driver where I commute 60 miles each way and have kids who ride in my truck.

How do they compare in weight to each other etc.

Edit: I've done a ton of reading and everyone always states in their build threads they picked this one but not why or how they like me and I did search but didn't find what I was looking for.

    Thanks

Sorry, which I could help. I have heard mixed reviews on the all-pro, but their bumpers seem decent. I haven't heard anything but good on the Demello, but no idea about interaction with your airbags. :notsure:

there are numerous other pop up companies lately that offer both front and rear bumpers and they vary in prices for whatever you want. here are a few different ones that i looked at before i settled with road armor:

    road armor
    tough country
    arb
    iron cross
    smittybilt

ARB is the front runner right now for the airbag purpose. From my understanding they are the only ones that offer that. But like I said above I'm totally open to ideas.

i was looking for the more "stealth" look on mine. honestly, in hind sight, i guess i should have checked for air bag co-op.... whoops... but at least it's gonna look sexy!

The airbag sensors are accelerometers mounted on the brace under the grill, so i'm kind of confused about how it's "airbag compliant" if it is triggered by the force of an impact and not from the bumper getting pushed in?

They will all work with your airbags. ARB just has the coin to drop to do actual tests and get theirs certified. If you can wait, Relentless, which is my favorite. Second is tough. Pelfreybilt, bruteforce, cbi, demello, they are all great bumpers. good luck in choosing!

And that is why I'm asking. I did not know that about the airbags. Just that ARB says theirs does work and no one else states that.

I will thanks. And yes that's a concern. I want function more than anything.

I didn't know any of the bumpers affected air bag function since the sensors are not in the bumper.

That being said I do love my ARB.

I hate the All-pro design. Love it looks wise but just seen too many threads of low speed collisions bending them all to hell. They are supposedly weak like that so that you can replace just the sections that crumple, but in similar situations a bumper like the ARB would just have ploughed thru and not bent. They are reinforced in the corners heavily for corner strikes and are tough as hell.

That comes with the price of them being heavy though.

Haven't heard much about Demello other than they seem to have a good rep. Certainly no one calls them "All-poo". (Though I have nothing against All-pro other than their design decision on the front bumper of making it multi-piece held together with fasteners)

To be honest though if I went with a new bumper, today, it would be Relentless. Very cool look, thick steel, tough as hell (3/16 steel instead of the 1/8 of the demello) and if weight is a concern, he even offers a 1/4" thick aluminum version.

Much of the toughness of an ARB, and a damn sexy look to go with it.

I really like the looks of the new apex. Thanks. I was pretty Leary of their other design that bolts together but I do like that a lot. What was the turn around time for you when you ordered?

Just ordered the Apex 2012 bumper with center hoop and light hoops plus IFS and T-Case skid and sliders. I saved roughly $340 with their sale (15% off) going on.

They quoted 2 weeks on everything with powder coat.
