    Ordered AVS,
Came scratched as shit... returned them... next pair came scratched slightly less... said Fuck it...then went to install and the fucking sticky adhesive wouldn’t work.

AVS matte black, low pro in channel. Excellent product and looks great, matches rubber pieces around windows.

AVS for years on all my vehicles and never a problem. If they come in scratched up a little plastic polish shines them right up. Now being flimsy is never been an issue but the bend pretty easy which I like. It makes it easier to clean the glass. A better way of describing it is more flexible.

I have one more question. I like the AVS matte black but seems like a common issue with the AVS's is them being kind of scratched up out of the package.

Anyone experience this with the matte finish and if so is there a way to take care of it?

It doesn't seem to me that plastic polish would work on a flat matte finish.

I have both the low profile ventshades and the aeroskin from AVS. Both in the matte black. All the pieces arrived scratch free and fit perfectly.

I have used AVS on 4 different vehicles since 2006. Of those 4 sets I had one set that was slightly imperfect. It was a set for a minivan so I wasn't that concerned and installed them anyway. It did not hurt the function and was not really noticeable unless you were staring directly at them.
I will continue to use AVS with no worries.

Weather tech. Took me months to finally spend the money on them but happy I did. Some things are worth spending the extra pennies on but that's for you decided.

    Canada Eh!
Do you have more pics of the weathertechs? Would appreciate see them from a rear 3/4 angle. Specifically the area near the side mirrors.

    Thanks!

Both times i bought AVS, was perfect out of package. I found that if i put coat of wax on the shades, they are easier to clean and look better.

Bought mine from Amazon and the first was marred/scratched up. I wouldn’t really call it a scratch but I returned it for another and the second wasn’t bad. I was going to do this until i got a good set. part of the problem could of very well been amazon, a long time ago I learned I will not buy anything of extreme value from them (drone, camera etc) I prefer straight from the manufacturer for that

2nd gen, but I've had my AVS in channels for 7 years and zero issues or damage done to them or the truck. I have the bug guard too and same thing.

I just got a set of avs in channel vent shades. I cleaned everything, but can't get the things to stick. Not very happy. Any tips?

My weather techs on the second gen did the same thing. I ended up having to remove the tape/residue on the rain guard and applied 3M double sided tape. They’ve held up since with no issues!

I’ve had Weathertechs on my 2nd gen for over five years now with no issues besides the one listed above. I did; however, order AVS for the 3rd gen as the Weathertechs are slightly difficult to work around when drying the window.

I just ordered the AVS low profile, in channel, smoke color. #994036 for $56 & the aeroskin II for $69 from amaz*n. I noticed they have color matching ones as well....but egads, that's a lotta dough for deflectors.
