I bought a Quicksand because it appeals to me. Within a month there were two more new ones in my immediate neighborhood, WTF.

    Really can't worry such things.....

Neighbors can do stuff like that...paying more attention to other peoples stuff than their own and then copying someones idea. It's good to be the trendsetter though.

Make Toyota make you a multicolored truck using all the colors. That would be rare. Then call it "the truck of many colors".

Just make sure all the good parts are painted Inferno!

I just did a scientifical survey and found out that 10 out of 10 hunters wear orange. Therefore hunters prefer Inferno.

I think you might be onto something with colors being regional as when l ordered my truck it was only available in MGM or Quicksand. This is not a Dealer Trade but an actually build to my specs.

Cement is the only rare color. Millions of the rest all over the place.

Mostly overwear. It was the only data that could be verified in our empirical field study:p

It is easy to find on PROs. Therefore it is not rare IMO.

I was super into quicksand when it came out, but so was everyone else. Where I live I see more quicksand than any other color hands down; well maybe tied with white. I see a ton of inferno too. I guess a mass produced vehicle in any color is not going to be very, "rare".

Most are black or MGM where I am. The QS and Inferno are both rare colors so far in my area.

<------------ As for which is more uncommon? Ive had mine for a year now. When I bought it I did not see one for a couple months, did not see a quicksand either. Now? I seem to see both.

need to learn more about this stuff
You have until 2018 to turn in your vw. I do. I've done everything except schedule my turn in. So I have paperwork notarized, I know the amount I'm getting etc. I'm having my taco built since I'm in no rush. Once the taco comes, I schedule the turn in date. Easy peasy. Having the vw tdi is actually the best scenario for buying a new car. Gives you ample time. So go to a dealer and get the pro built just like you want her.

Dealerships don't love to do it because they want the sale "now". But they all do it. Just push them and tell them you'll just go somewhere else to do it.

You could special order it. I used to think that you couldn't get a deal this way BUT:

    1. Toyota for the most part seems to be fixed price on Tacomas. Dealershits tend to not be overloaded with them. Also Tacoma buyers are specific buyers seeking them. Toyota also realizes what they have...trucks that have great resale value.

    2. This gives you time to find your own financing, which saves money on the BS finance charge. Also it's easy to find better APR's to the tune of 2 percentage points lower.

    3. They know they are getting a sale so you can make sure they don't slide in manager fees, etc.. Plus the car won't sit on their lot.

    4. You can order precisely what you want. This is worthy of careful study since there are only 25 variations and 10,000 options to choose from.

    5. Gives you time to plan the whole purchase so it's not a five hour mind numbing experience.

There's no reason to settle for something that you won't love the most. Same is true with finding the right girl.
