For discussion sake, lets say that wheels/tires/lift is an even $3k if you were to go out and do it on your own. That leaves someone overpaying by $10k. I have a really hard time imagining someone getting denied $10k worth of warranty work that isn't related to their lift.

I'm also curious about this diamond fusion windshield package with nanotechnology no less. Anyone have the scoop on this?

I feel like putting rain x or glass sealant will work for the majority of the things this diamond fusion protects against

Hmmm. Doesn't seem worth it. Some better visibility and chip resistance for $800? I could buy 8 new windshields for that with my $100 windshield replacement deductible.
Makes more sense for military type situations where you don't get the option of having someone at your convenience to come replace a cracked windshield...

Cash in hand, I walked away from two local dealerships that had attached sticker with addons such as clear coat, undercoating, and other BS. They wanted between $2700 and $3900 for these items.

The third dealer had no such sticker and offered me a fair deal without hassle or trips to the managers office. I drove away with my 2017 MTM DCSB OR. And no added zirconium encrusted belly button brush either!

Seriously? Who elected you to be the moral conscience of the ignorant consumer? Remember that most people don't even come to a vehicle forum. They just buy a vehicle and move on. I agree that the list price is absurd but what is it really worth to:
Finance it all in one loan
Have a 3/36 warranty, especially when you know the dealer will be there three years from now
Get what you want in right now and drive it away.

Many people have the means and money to pay that price just for convenience. Just because you don't does not make it wrong.
I was out to dinner in Charlotte NC a few nights ago and parked next to a Jeep. They had 100K in it if they had a dime. Found out it belonged to one of the Carolina Panthers. If people can afford it more power to them. And finally, you could probably talk the guy down a substantial amount if you were seriously going to buy that truck today.
Everyone's different. What's good for you is not for others.

Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
Hey that's what the dealership is all about, fucking over the customer! (that is if you let them)

Dealerships really like flaunting their wheels, that's part of the sell.
Though buyer beware, keep in mind, when you are discussing financing your "new fully tricked out Tacoma" that your so excited about you will also be financing all the added accessories along with it as well. Depending on how long and what percentage you finance your Tacoma for, like for example $40,007 (as posted above in OP) once finally paid off you'll have paid something in the range of upper $50k to close to $60k!

    Fuck that!

It's borderline criminal the upcharge they throw on this stuff. Even when an uneducated person tries to negotiate (weakly, I might add), the stealerships have the nerve to back up their upcharges with bullshit lies. I've heard and seen it all - I'm sure you have as well. They'll say anything if they think they can justify the upcharge. Did you ever see that thread on here about the guy out in LA who saw a dealership charge $2,000 for a TRD PRO Grille?

How fucking hard is it for a dealership to be honest? You're telling me the OP's stealership couldn't have charged, I don't know 5k-8k, for those same mods and still made an honest profit?

I'd much rather prefer a salesman tell me how it is - it costs 8k for this lift because we marked up the price of the parts marginally, our service department installed the stuff, you can finance it with the price of the truck, and it comes with a 3/36 warranty.

I'd love to hear an honest salesman try to back up that 13k upcharge.

I don't represent anyone and people can throw money at whatever the hell they want, but come on man, there's got to be a limit to this shit that stealerships are doing.

The biggest thing I took exception to in my case was them lying about the HID kit. Then when I called them out, they tried to defend it to the point where they said "we have the right to charge we want." I agree that if you are going to charge someone something at least be honest about it. There's no real way to justify $90 LED plug and play bulbs as a $600 addon..

Its a nice truck for sure but not for the price they are asking. This truck stock could be talked down to $36k with aftermarket parts I can see a $5k-$8k premium bringing the price back to around $42kish. OTD price around $45k. I think $45k is probably fair. Thoughts? For the record I already have a 17' taco, just throwing out my opinon.

The words "honest" and "salesman" do not belong in the same sentence.

Do you need to know, or care?
No where near worth 13K, you could drive a stock off the lot to the suspension dude and tire/wheel place next door and get it done for 1/2 the price. Saying that, will someone buy it? Probably because they think it's worth it or don't know any better.
